I doubt that PAF wants a J20 as is. More likely would be ToT in helping to design our own fighter.

In case of confidential J20 technology transferred to turkey by parkistan, it is low possibility for parkistan to get j20 in the near future, nothing to do SCS

If Turkish keep disturb China with some cheap TFX, we will sell Pakistan J20 to crush them.

Block52 is not a necessary for China like 10 years ago. Our fighter is a generation ahead.

I think this report is talking about FC20 and not J20. What was the status of J20 back in 2011 ?

J20 first flew in Jan 2011. How could it be available for export back then ?

I can confirm that a formal request for J-20 sale has been placed before the highest office in China. Fate of it will be revealed in time.

Well, it'll bring back some much needed technological boost to PAF. The Indians had an edge with Su 30 and now Rafale.

Honestly, we are turning in circles ! ... the original report by must be wrong and even more it contradicts all we know so far on PAF/PLAAF cooperation and the J-20 in general. The most reasonable explanation is a translation error or a plain stupid author at stratfor !

IMO we can close this thread since it contains no facts and is based on pure fiction and speculation.

India evaluated f16/70 and the f18 super hornets,in India and the Euro fighters.

The point is evaluating is not the same as signing the contract to acquire a system .

Signing S contract happen 3 to 5 years before delivery especially if S new generation fighter like fifth gen bird

Rest of the world and media as you can I'm not saying will see something for PN during this

The J-20 came up right before PAFs eyes(the closeness between Chengdu and PAC is sometimes understated). However, I doubt that anything beyond seeing the aircraft as a walkaround was done.

The J-31 has not been looked at beyond airshows and basic technical exchanges. Pakistan doesn't really want a medium 5th gen and would rather do it on their own or in partnership (unless the Americans drop the F-35 into our lap) Right now the focus is JF-17 and the independence and flexibility it is bringing hitherto experienced only in the Mirage by the PAF previously.

There is a requirement for a large 5th gen and Chengdu had another design concept but the Russians had this one ready(Mr. Ma has colleagues from all over the world for short periods of time, a smart tactic to make technological leaps much much faster)

The fifth gen decision is far off, currently a stop gap is needed.
If any 5th gen is to be imported, it will be a heavy air dominance kind and so far only China makes one.

Still J-20 is way to big and also until they come up with new engines I doubt these beasts will come
