In my view, it is difficult to honor a pedophile (or was it incest) who used his position of power to take advantage of the women around him, that is if allegations against him are true.

A lot of so-called evidences againt him were created by his enemies. He had millions and millions of enemies including the British rulers as well as Indian RSS-Hindutvadis. Even after his death, those controversies refused to die down.

All they have are a few photographs of young girls who voluntarily assisted him to move around, with a smile on their faces. That doesn't prove anything. All the perverts are the people who write such slanderous articles. This thread's purpose is to expose them.

Gandhi was rated no.2 on Time Magazine's World's Greatest People of 20th Century. No.1 was Albert Einstein. He's not only an Indian but a global icon. He also inspired Civil Rights movement in USA as Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of his fans. He also inspired Nelson Mandela to fight against Apartheid in South Africa.

There's a reason we consider him the greatest in India despite so many vile enemies and their smear propaganda.

Mahatma Gandhi was also heavily influenced by the principles of Jainism. One of the beliefs of Jainism is to not wear any clothes and thus you see mostly see him with only a dhoti. He was half-Hindu half-Jain with his mother being a Jain and father being a Hindu (Vaishnav).

His mother Putlibai Gandhi was also a Vaishnavite. She was the FOURTH wife of his father.

Gandhi himself wrote that his mother would not have food until she finished her puja (prayer) rituals. She would go to the temple regularly.

She would strictly keep fast on Ekadashi (Eleventh day of the lunar month). Having meals only once a day was child's play for her.

During the sacred four month's period (chaturmas) she used to pray devoutly and observe all rituals. During this period she used to be so strict that she would take meals only after she saw and prayed the Sun.


And that letter is 100% true. Gandhi's propensity to sleep naked with you girls was well known and caused quite a scandal back then. The CONgress struggled to keep that matter quite for political reasons. This was during the last days of independence and after his wife died. He even slept naked with his grand daughter though by all accounts he did nothing more.

He claimed he did it to "test" his "self control" , though such a childish claim seems laughable now. (Nobody believed it back then either). He had just lost it by then.

In Gujarat, the Vaishnav's and Jains have a lot of OVERLAP in their cultures. Very similar family environments, they even intermarry a lot.

No it does not qualify as evidence because I already said Gandhi-ji had millions of enemies. There were many disgruntled persons within Congress Party who had their own personal ax to grind against Gandhi and Nehru. As a result, they wrote all those slanderous lies that cannot be proved.
