Vietnam a Growing Threat to Taiwan’s South China Sea Claims: Report

at that time i don't think KMT actually control northeast...nor had the ability to...it was basically an indian style central gov..
but you have to admit KMT was useful after 1937 (official jp invasion)...though they were terrible military strategically speaking(burned changsha wtf!!!)...
if mao could control KMT military(all those murican & germen weapons..) at that time, we wouldnt have lost so many lives (soldiers and civilians )while fighting japanese.

WTF? Did that moron Cheng Kai Shek ordered to burn down Changsha? I think all ancient Chinese military strategist would turn around from their graves.

No doubt the Germans and the Russians had the upper hand in regards to firepower of their mechanized infantry. The Wermacht's Tiger Tanks were even feared by American Shermans. There were , indeed, differences in mandates of warefare between the German, Russian and Imperial Armies. For one thing, the Imperial Army was outdated in the mentality --- I mean --- for one thing -- I do not agree with their policy of -- 死ぬまで戦う-- To the Death. Thousands of our soldiers were wasted in these foolish banzai charges, and that old feudal ideology.

I could say much more.

The Imperial Japan mostly focused on the development of their air/naval power because of her special geographic position.

The land army usually got very little fund for the mechanization.

And KMT was using the best German land equipment to fight against the weakest army faction of the Imperial Japan, yet they still lost badly. That's why that the KMT was 100% a disgrace in our history.

If real war between TW-VN happen, we just simply sink all TW merchant ships-oil tanker passing through SCS(east sea), game over for them in few hours.

But those rocks in SCS(east sea) r not important to us, beside that we've got so many rocks there already, its no use and waste money to have one more useless rocks.

Yeah, it's that simple. Simply sink all Taiwanese ships and game over in a few hours. Because all the shipping Taiwan ever needs occurs within the time span of a few hours.

So what about goods going to Taiwan under American flagged vessels? Under Chinese flagged vessels? Under Russian flagged vessels? What if it's a Taiwanese flagged ship carrying goods owned by the US, China, or Russia? How would Vietnam know the difference. How would Vietnam even enforce a blockade when Vietnam barely has a navy? Is an AK armed Viet Cong going to slowly paddle over to a large container ship on his raft made of coconut shells and demand that he be allowed to inspect the cargo?

Delusional Viets are delusional. :disagree:

Also engaging into a war against a nation with an industrial power which was 8 times bigger than the Imperial Japan, it had already marked their downfall.

Attacking China and Attacking America was our greatest and most foolish blunder of all. It is similar to Germany attacking England and then engaging in Operation Barbarossa with Russia. Sometimes, I wonder how it would be -- had Japan not attacked China. I mean, the only reason why America even embargoed Japan was because Japan was at war with China. Prior to attacking China, Japan's largest steel and oil provider was surprisingly the United States.

Before the war, Japan's industrial complexes were incredibly advanced. Standard of living was improving. The war destroyed and reversed everything we had gained the past 70 years.

yeah.. they kinda did... and 花园口..3,911,354, escape, 893,303 dead...it's really hard to be a fan of KMT if you know the history...they were like ultimate moron...

.
Addendum: And for what? What did the Japanese people benefit from that war? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. This is why morons from the military should always be kept in check. And always allow Leaders in Government to have cool heads.

The US didn't give a damn about China, but they were only afraid that Japan becoming too big after absorbing the entire China.

That's why they have put the sanctions on your country.

That could have been a possibility. I just wish Japan focused on developing itself , improving the standard of living of people in the Empire. They should have left China alone , let China handle her own internal affairs and let Chinese people sort out their own manifest destiny. In fact, I even think that Japan could have solidified its relationship with China by providing aid to China during the civil war. Who knows, perhaps China and Japan could have emerged as allies.

The possibility always intrigues me.

They are only stupid against the foreigners, but against their own brothers and sisters, they are more brutal than anyone else.

Thanks to Taiwan, every year we have lost so many classified information and military secrets.

They will pay for the treason they have done to our country.

I agree. Japan had everything going for them prior to Manchuria. It had Taiwan, Korea, Kurils, Sakahlin, rapidly developing economy, 3rd largest navy, and lastly it was one of the leading nations in the international system due to being a leader in the league of nations.

Til this date japan still wish to regain that spot in the UNSC security council.

Lesson is greed can cause you to lose everything.

the hard truth or lesson for china is never allow yourself to be that weak(hurt by jp which was ...really small in chinese psyche..)....
believe it or not, after 1894 chinese actually wanted to learn from jp(sun yat sen...), about how to industrialize...at least some hope for east asian as a race against white people...
jp invasion ruined it forever...

But even after getting defeated in WW-2 Japan manage to become worlds 2nd largest economy and one of most advance country in the world.

i sometimes think if jp actually succeeded in conquering and occupying china ...200 years later there would be no japanese left...just look at Manchurian...no one speak manchurian these days...so china is a huge trap..

I agree. No one can conquer China, She is a behemoth. In fact, all various factions that claimed to have "conquered" China were, in the end, Sinified. Such as the Yuan Dynasty and even the Qing Dynasty. As for ethnic beauty, how can Japanese declare we are different --- when the earliest settlers of Japan were sinic people themselves? The Yayoi Jidai -- is filled with legendary stories, but most of the early settlers of present-day Japan were actually from what is now Zhejiang Region of China. Early Japanese were from Chinese mainland. Our ancestors were Chinese , lol.

But even after getting defeated in WW-2 Japan manage to become worlds 2nd largest economy and one of most advance country in the world.

At the cost of over 3 million Japanese. Because of our mistakes, we contributed to the deaths of over 30 million Chinese, who are our fraternal civilization. Millions of innocent people from Indochina, Malaccas, Malaya, Indonesia, Philippines, Burma, Thailand, even Indians died. All because of the foolish adventurism of our deluded military leaders.

It is a stain to us. A stain that we wish we could wash away, but can never. It is the greatest Shame to befall on Japan and Japanese people.

True, but one should admire how Japan rise after WW-2 not many nations can rise after such defeat. Japan created a trust through its reliable products.

Well, lets hope our Taiwanese brethens strengthen their hand in SCS. Their greatest problem would be the projection of their limited forces into SCS from much, much greater distance then Vietnam, also, if Vietnam does make a move & take the island, how will Uncle Sam handle the situation? The other equation is, us, I don't believe the PLA will not move if Vietnam move, espacially against Taiwan. Also, with the SCS case filed to The Hague, it would be self-sabotage if Vietnam starts shooting first.
