I think they should upheld rule of law, is there a law against such celebration?

remember its only banned in public places...only attention seekers and show offs display their "love or lust" publicly. Why don't people give flowers to their mothers or sisters on valentines day? do they not love them?
Secondly Islam encourages you to give gifts to your wife and other family members, there is no problem with that.

The US did not 'ban' Muslims from those countries. We only want to put them under additional screening before admittance to the US. That is not a 'ban'. You have been misled, but am not surprised you so easily felled for it.

Anything that doesnt comply with our Religious and cultural norms can be legally banned.
Presenting gifts to girls we are not married to is against our culture and religion and creates multiple social problems.

Saying talaaq three times or by sending by sms (just happened in India)in fit of rage also causes social problems. Now would you ban that???

My personal opinion is court should not become moral guardian. Morality is different for different people.
