Personally, I don't want Trump to lose the election. But let's see what will happen.

A lot of people would prefer him as they can use his presidency as opportunity for geopolitical scoring but he is a bit unpredictable. If he senses he will lose he could cause trouble abroad or at home or just back down and quit early.

So time will tell where this US policy is heading.

The same thing happened to the Russian passenger plane. So, it's not unprecedented. And they got too close. So close that the passengers could actually see them. Some say that they got closer than 100 meters to the airplane.
