Pakistan is a $304 Billion economy now. Pakistan itself offered $500 Million Aid to Afghanistan and in addition to that spent another $500 Million on Infrastructure projects in Afghanistan. Stopping $50 million will have zero effect on Pakistan. Its literally funny. US aid isn't even needed. They depend upon Pakistan for supply lines. Last time Pakistan closed transit routes, Russia facilitated them, this time Putin won't oblige.

anyways, US has done right as per their interest, they think we harbor Terrorist so they cut the AID , we on the other hand just need to clear our borders from TTP/JuA/and ISIS and fence the border , ISIS and Taliban will soon be displaying convoy Attacks on US forces in their TV channels , and i am waiting for the time when US will be blaming that too on Pakistan

Perhaps before Pakistan performs an action favourable to US they should first get a "Signed" document from US authorities if the cost would be reimbursed it would simplify the issue

Difficult to do business with a person who backs out of payment on time

Credibility becomes null by repeated offences of missing payment on time

That's not the reason it's a good decision. The reason why it's a good decision is that the money supplied gives a not-very-democratic government less ability to spend money without the consent of its citizenry.

I really don't see why, at this stage, the U.S. government shouldn't start closing all the money taps. Let Pakistan's government collect taxes from its citizens or panhandle elsewhere.

What should be "the most important" for you and Pakistan, is to not always find others to support you better than the previous party, but to grow your country, avoid damaging the political stability, so you don't ever have to need American or Chinese $$. But just watching your country and its politics and military affairs, it seems as if you guys don't want stability and will continue to damage your country, scare investors off, etc. I have never seen so much divide that has damaged a country to this degree and still no one has learned from the past mistakes, sadly!

WASHINGTON: The Pentagon will not make military reimbursements to Pakistan for fiscal year 2016 after US defense secretary Jim Mattis told Congressthat Islamabad had not taken sufficient action against the Haqqani network, a US official said on Friday.

"The funds could not be released to the Government of Pakistan at this time because the secretary could not certify that Pakistan has taken sufficient action against the Haqqani Network per the requirement in the FY 2016 National Defense Authorization Act," Adam Stump, a Pentagon spokesman, said.

May be its " saving private Nawaz shareef ". Biggest enemy for intruding force in Afghanistan is its terrain . These tribes play very low intensity war against any intruder in Afghanistan. This is there blood and mentality . Time to revisit British war history in Afghanistan..

Sure, but don't expect Pakistan to bow, expect it to retaliate. The US seems to think it's the only one holding the cards, Pakistan has a few tricks up its sleeves as well.

if anything, this is a good thing for Pakistan, as it forces Pakistan to become self reliant.
