In fact, these contradictory statements of Hillary Clinton and Leon Panetta including some other US officials show American double game with Pakistan. It is also playing same game with India.However, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta also encouraged India to take a more active role in Afghanistan as international forces draw down after there. India which has already invested billion of dollars in Afghanistan, signed a signed a wide-ranging strategic agreement..

Anyway i was trying to read the original article but it is not opening. But the fact is if you analyze Indian political history and political dynamics...India will allign with countries that support only India's intrest...For the time being US and Indias intrest are converging because It is Pakistan that has moved away from US due to its own bad foreign policy...India will never be an complete ally of US because there are so much of contradiction of goal that US pusues that does not serve the purpose for India...Even in internal politics too....the extereme right party like BJP does not want to be complete junior partner of USA...So then forget about rest of the political parties like Congress, Communist...

In case in coming election Mr Modi comes to power ..then believe me...India will pursue a different kind of foreign policy than alligning with USA...

India is in her lowest point in the entire history. India is getting up and expecting to be back to the old days in the next 40 years.

- 1700s Indian GDP was around 27% of world gdp and it is now about 3%. So already India has faced the downfall. The only way is rise up.

Can't be bothered to read the article.. headline seems to suggest that India's proximity to US will cause India's downfall. India's 'Chanakya Niti' foreign policy is beyond the intelectual & comprehension capabilities of this author & the fanboys in this forum. A country which flies a Israel built phalcon awacs, with US tech, mounted on a Russian plane, fueled by Iranian oil.. maintains equal relations with Jews, Arabs & Persians without any difficulty... We know that fact very well Bhai. Infact US needs to realise what India is all about. We get them to give us a Nuclear deal. Make them rally around & get us NSG waiver. Make them ammend their law to suit us. Then we tell them.. you can't have the contract till you change your liability clause to suit our requirement. Whoever wants to deal with us.. need to deal with us on our terms. Make them & their cronies to do all dirty works in Afghan, while we are good guys to locals by doing all good things & bagging huge contracts. Then again.. not many have the capabilities to grasp these things.
