The UGM-84 series sub launched Harpoon is an all-weather, sea-skimming, cruise-monitored by radar altimeter, with active radar terminal homing over the horizon anti-ship missile system fitted with a solid-fuel rocket booster and encapsulated in a container to enable submerged launch through a torpedo tube. Its speed is
high subsonic, around 850 km/h and
range is 140 km. The latest UGM 84L Block II which India is acquiring has a range of 280 km.
