US to Sell India Submarine-Launched Missiles

The US has decided to sell, has India decided to purchase?

One problem with Brahmos is it's weight and it's limited range. Advantage includes:
A. Can be launched from land, air and sea
B. Can hit targets on land and in sea
C. Supersonic at all stages

Why are we exploring different options when we already have got such a versatile weapon system? Is that because we don't have complete control over the production?

Diff version of missile can fire from Air , sub etc Like Brahmos , the Navy Ship version cannot be used by Army, and Army version cannot be used by Navy.

though it can not fire from Land and target lands, but its still know of its Anti Ship role.

I think the versions of Harpoon Block-II that come with the "L" series alphabet have almost a 100-km greater
range than "D" or other older versions (except "F" I think). For example UGM-84D has a 140km range, comparing
with other L variants, UGM-84L (the one India is getting now) should have around 220-km range I presume?

The latest UGM-84L Blk II that India is acquiring has a range of 280 km.

correct. Just saying that this one talks specifically of Sub Launched Harpoon. Hence this one is not for P8I. Fact is P8I came with its own complement of harpoons. That deal is done sometime back.

Because china has anti ship missiles with the combination of harpoon and exocet design, India needs to see the capability of Harpoon also.
