First this is not even armed drone it's a survielence drone and finally USA is paying for it @IceCold

What is the need of this? Are they for free? Why can't we utilize locally produced drone and spend these $10.5 m on R & D.

Just because it is small doesn't mean it is junk. I would REALLY love to take a closer look at it. 20 hours of endurance for a drone this small is no joke. Someone here talks about the integrated dynamics border eagle here. That has an endurance of "in excess of 3 hours" according to their own website. Also for the communication link to work for a drone this small to upto 100 km isn't something trivial either.
This might not be a big armed drone but it is certainly not 'crap' as some people are saying. I don't think we have the capability to make something like this. It is irrelevant whether that is 'shameful' or not but having a closer look at these might help us in getting rid of this 'shame'.

Probably because they come from the CSF or something and "you take the money and try to develop it" wasn't one of the options.

Tactical Drone guys!!!!! It is not required to fly across the border -- so no need for longer ranges. It will save lives of our soldiers -- by sending sharper images to ground commanders while operating far ahead of an advancing patrol or where search and seizure operations operations are being carried out.

This platform was extensively used in Afghanistan to patrol important roadways prior to combat patrols and helped identify IED's and possible ambush points.

Loiter time of 22+ hour gives an immense advantage to a company or a battalion commander required to send out regular policing patrols -- eyes in the sky with low operating cost is cost effective force multiplier.

IMHO the acquisition needs to be seen in the context of the job it is required to do or can perform and not our wet or not so wet dreams!!!!!

Our drones can't fly from global cutter , this baby can fly from small boat an ideal match for Global cutter surveilance
