US objects to China-Pakistan nuclear deal

I believe that US has already been brought on board by China that there will be no serious objection from the US. It is obvious that US will do some objection for the consumption of countries like India and for the consumption of masses.

. .
Its a friendship-test of America. Lets see if common Pakistanis are willing to change their opinion for USA or continue maintaining the same opinion that is Americans cannot be our friends?

.
well dear you don't got my meaning

USA is confused how they carry relation with Pakistan in future

USA is thinking few factors

1 nuke power of Pakistan is nuke power is really safe
2 Taliban is getting closer day by day to Pakistan and they can get the power in future
3 Pakistan is getting fail in economy
4 Pakistan is not able to control extremist group inside Pakistan

and the most import china Pakistan relation

so i called usa is still confused about realtion

1)Nuke power so many super power against us standing protecting it and no one even think of getting close to thm.

2 ) TTP is still a treat but not a big one , coz Our army has already dumped thm very well.and countinue dumping thm .

3) and about the failing economy ,ha ha just search google how pakistan economy is doing .

4) Our relationship with China are not hidden , they are open . and no one should worry about that.

how will know wether americans are your friends or not ??

If you think US will not object to the deal then its your friend..then it is certainly not your friend..because it will surely object, thats what we are discussing..

BTW - US is no one's friend.

.
Thats what they can do, the trio (USA, India & Israel) would do anything to stop this deal going through, let see wether our all weather friend be able to sustain their pressure or not.

But how India involve in this
If russia make this statement that you can make this statement.

It is very unfortunate that the US has decided to follow this path. Unfortunate for the US. Why? Because they have made their opposition public on an issue that they will not be able to influence or mold to their will. The net result is that they will come out looking powerless, weak and unable to shape the behaviour of the international community.

Of course, this sort of ridiculous behaviour also goes a long way in completely laying to waste whatever investments & goodwill generation strategies the US is attempting to employ in Pakistan. They should know that on the issue of nuclear development, the overwhelming sentiment in Pakistan is firmly in the "build, build, build" camp. If the US gets in the way of Pakistan's legitimate development of nuclear energy projects, then it will be the loser, unfortunately.

Come on tech for now US has the greater say in NSG..Austrlia and Japan will support them will full heart on this matter..The net result will most probably that NSG will oppose this move..it was US ,who single handedly made sure that NSG pass the waiver to India..dont underestimate the US now..they have some cards under the sleeves..

Offcource it will affect the US-Pak relation to an extent but sincerely is it the first time they acted against you??still after some time you will get back together..the reality is that you both needed each other ..same goes with China and US relation..

Only card US have is the traitor politicians of Pakistan.
Just start chrging US money for its transit trade.. start taxing there petrol than they will come begging you.

.
You are being too nice, its actually called being a hypocrite and applying blatant double standards, which in itself is not really new behavior on the part of the US.

Why single out USA? Let China propose a waiver for Pakistan to the NSG and then we will see who all are being "hypocrite".

I don't want to start a storm here... but fact remains, actions speak louder than words. One can go around shouting that he is a victim of "double standards" but your past deeds will show why those double standards apply.

What would you have said if the US objected to a reactor deal between India and Russia? (hypothetically and assume the year is 2002)

The US is acting like a hypocrite and the Obama administration is buckling down in front of the pressure by old conservative hawks and yes, the Indian pressure to maintain it's status as the main nuclear beneficiary in the region.

Nope - As far as our strategic program is concerned.Any harm done to our strategic program by internal element will invite Army Coup even if the whole Army is pro democracy. Our Strategic Nuclear Program is uncompromisable.

At the time of India-USA nuke deal Pakistan and China try their best to stop that deal and also vote against India ...............so India have right to use all its contacts and friends to stop that deal

Why single out the USA? Because the thread is about US actions with regards to civilian nuclear power. As for China, China is the one selling Pakistan two NPP's, in case you missed it. So Chinese intentions on this issue seem pretty clear.

And given that the US has openly rejected the possibility of an NSG waiver for Pakistan, what will raising the issue of a waiver for Pakistan in the NSG resolve? Any movement towards a waiver will start with talks and negotiations between nations on the issue before it is ever raised at the NSG.

What past deeds? The unauthorized (by the Pakistani State) sale of outdated centrifuges and nuclear plans that were duds to Iran and Libya by AQ Khan?

Compare that to the 'past deeds ' of certain European countries, that provided Pakistan and Israel with the technology to build their nuclear weapons programs. Some argue China assisted Pakistan with its first nuclear weapon design. All these members of the NSG committed far worse proliferation to countries like Israel and Pakistan, and yet they are part of the NSG?

So this excuse of 'proliferation' is BS, because of the role of Western nations in proliferation themselves. So the only way proliferation should be taken into account is by analyzing whether or not past proliferation networks and loopholes have been shut down, and on that count there is plenty of evidence that Pakistani nuclear controls are now amongst the best in the world.
