US missiles, attack copters sale plan to Pakistan irks India

Here! We don't care a fuk! :P Pakistan can never compete with India in an arms race. You can't afford it!

However, your arms acquisitions can be financed by the Ambanis who can easily fund your entire defence budget! :cheesy: :P
Hows Tejas feeling these days, I heard they are admitted to hospital again, for a year now.. :coffee:

.
Because it was used items sold to pakistan.
Yes but the pattern shows that our army does not promote buying like Indian armed forces.
1981 by PRC objections to the level of US arms sales to the Republic of China on Taiwan. Secretary of State Alexander Haig visited China in June 1981 in an effort to resolve Chinese concerns about America's unofficial relations with Taiwan. Vice President Bush visited the PRC in May 1982. Eight months of negotiations produced the US-PRC Joint Communiqué of August 17, 1982. In this third communiqué, the US stated its intention to gradually reduce the level of arms sales to the Republic of China, and the PRC described as a fundamental policy their effort to strive for a peaceful resolution to the Taiwan question.
Due to America fearing copying of technology. Plus the Taiwan policy has no real parallel here

Yes, granted Israel will help India out with certain projects but that again is not a replacement for America.

And the point remains, your cynicism was uncalled for and unappreciated

Wow,
You do realize your military expenditure is at a higher percentage of your GDP compared to India.

Cynicism? You were the one who was trying to call say protest registered as immature, whereas I just pointed out that is the most objective measure India could have taken. Now if your understand of objectivity is opaque, then I can't help you there.

btw historically half of Indian Air fleet and offensive weaponry has been from Europe, Israeli co-op is a recent development.

Promote?? The word was Promote.... We have a higher ratio of GDP or whatever, our 10 year plans are not as public as the Indian armed forces. The Rafale deal was public how long before the purchase??

Actually all it will do is make the lobby try and push the congress which will not go against the lobbies which have already gotten the deal cleared for sale. You apparently are into selective thinking.

You understand future??
Richard A. Bitzinger of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, a former consultant for the American RAND Corporation think tank, suggests that Western Europe's "failure" to develop a fifth-generation jet fighter may reduce these former leaders in the market to also-ran status as the world's attention shifts to the competition between the United States and Asian powers.[81] Canadians Alex Wilner and Marco Wyss of the Center for Security Studies claim that Europe's failure to "keep up" with the F-35 may make the European jet fighter manufacturers close up shop.[82] However, Europe may return with a trans-national 'sixth-generation' UCAV, assuming that the political entanglements can be evaded.[83] The European Defence Agency has warned that the European $60 billion industry could collapse by 2020.
Until today, no work has been announced on any future jet. Future jets are what we should be considering because Mirages are not what will be featured in 10 years??

These projects need funds which were not approved in the budgets that followed, rather all R n D budgets have been reduced.

Any prototype approved, even move into prototype or design phase. Indian AMCA is ahead of anything Europe has done.

Seriously, read before you post, these are Sixth Gen Projects not 5th gen, as in comparing jf17 with an f22, as far as TD's The nEUROn made its first flight on December 1, 2012 in France. Flights are to continue in France until 2014, when they will be moved to Sweden for operational trials, then to Italy to measure stealth characteristics and for live-firing tests

India raises concern over Russian attack copter sale to Pakistan

Last week, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Dedov has announced a possible sale of the attack helicopters.

Jun 19, 2014

India on Thursday raised its concerns over Russia’s move to sell its Mi35 attack helicopters to Pakistan. The issue was raised by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj during her meeting with visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry O Rogozin.

Russia, which supplies 60 per cent of India’s arms imports, had last week spoken about its willingness to supply the attack helicopters to Islamabad. “The question regarding our defence cooperation and any issues that impact this in terms of our concern were raised,” an MEA spokesperson said.

Last week, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Dedov has announced a possible sale of the attack helicopters. “Pakistan has expressed its interest in buying MI-35 helicopters and we have shown our willingness to provide them,” he had said.

Dehati Aurat analogy has never been more applicable.
And what is funny is they claim that the do not care about Pakistan any more!!
Paranoid poor souls!

Lets stop buying lol
ON a serious note, can you think of anything that will be better then this? :) We both stop buying from the developed world, the weapons to destroy each other, giving them money to further develop themselves and make more weapons of destruction to sell to us.
Wont the whole region be a much better place if we can just stop arming ourselves against each other? :)

Where they disappeared.... There is no movement towards any 6th generation project. Any other project is in the imagination or in fan fiction blogs. Would and could is not words used in actual projects.

.
Stupid indians have nothing better to do .On Pakistan every major weapons purchase their indian asses start tearing apart , relax let the Vedics cry
Better language could be expected. As far as your post is concerned I could point out that it is quite shameless for you buy your hardware from US for multiple reasons, but I won;t go there.

India is crying like baby. Even their ally russia supplied us engines for our fighters.
Even, We still have options for block52+ from U.S.A. And they will supply us helicopters too.

Just because you don't know about doesn't mean it has dis-appeared. You have the world wide web to do you own research. Without digressing from the topic at hand, the bottom line is India has access to all defense markets barring Chinese, and enough money to buy what it wants. It is India prerogative to protest, it's upto the supplier to take heed or ignore India's concern. Our diplomatic corp is doing it's due diligence.

.
Not as a Prime threat, but still holds great threat perception as a volatile entity with 7th largest standing military on the face of the planet. Any additional risk posed by introduction of of new offensive or defensive systems need to be mitigated at all levels, including diplomatic coercions and pressure tactics to hedge against it. As far as real threat arising from these systems, most of the times due to the size of existing defense systems, countermeasures for scalability and potential inductions such systems already exist, but often some systems need additional development of counter strategies, I don't see anything wrong in alteast registering protests to our so called allies when they are arming nations in our vicinity.

Dear that is you talking, i expect this from your, same sensible evaluation by your military as well. Was refering to the fan boys, the chest thumping community that have sadly penetrated your media and even politics as well and is not only confined to this forum. :)
What you said is understandable and makes perfectly good sense.

If i tell you the real reason, IFS is over staffed, and they are quite hyper active. They haven't heard the term chill pill... this will keep happening. Just their due diligence.
