US friendship faces ‘St Antony’ test

Why do you have to be a Pakistani.....You clearly think there is no problem with religion in secular India. Come on bro....wake up and stop putting a band aid. I said he might......India has made tremendous progress but more needs to be done. I stand by what I said because Hindus are a majority in India, so there may be some opposition. Do you think the BJP or RSS is going to vote for him. Do you think they will support him?

antoy is a congress party member so why should bjp, rss vote for him ? besides he was an atheist also i guess he still is..but it doesn't matter..what he believes or not believes.even bjp members respect him and even they don't look at his religion.
i am not saying all is well in india.. reglion still plays a roll in india..in his case christian church/muslim league/communists etc has more influence in kerala(where he belongs to ) than bjp..but he opposed the church in many matters and even spoken against minority politics.

.
There may be some religious problems in India but its only relegated to a small portions of the country mostly in rural areas. And these are rarely a purely religious problem. Most of the time these are social problems mixed with religion e.g. Kandhamal in Orissa.

Can you explain to me how a party run by a catholic Women with a Sikh as a Prime Minister is in Power for last 7 years in a country with 80% Hindus if majority of Hindus are communal?

I agree with you that there are some room for improvement but saying that Hindus won't vote for Anthony because he is Christian is BS.
Read the second para again if you still can't believe it.

Gujarat is rural? But I see your point, I agree that MMS and SOnia wouldn't be in power if it weren't for Hindus. I just said there might be a issue. You never see a guy like this as PM because then no one will get a piece of the pie. Also, you gotta remember Congress is a party that enjoys support from folks who are open minded. Notice the BJP enjoys immense support as well and what does that tell me about their voters?

I agree ...However I just think there are Indians due to lack of education and economically backward who are easily misguided to think that his lack of religion is not a positive trait for a politician. In fact, I think he being an atheist is a great asset for India....it cuts the BS and allows you to see any situation clearly

Happens everywhere bro. Even in countries like the USofA you have rednecks who join the KKK and other haters. That didnt stop a Black politician like OBama from becoming President. In India it didnt stop a non Hindu like MMS becoming PM and wouldnt stop a Christian like Anthony becoming PM either.

Yeah good point...

misterme2,

Dude, give it a rest. Do you have a problem with Hindus or India?

tell me, how many Muslims have been elected by your "secular" Americans to US Congress, in its 250 years of history?

Is nt Barack Hussain Obama half muslim

. .
No one is "half Muslim" there is no such a thing.

Obama's natural father, who abandoned him and his Mother when Obama was young, was a Kenyan of part Arab part Negro extraction. His Mother was from Kansas, USA, Caucasian (white)...so Obama was half White, a quarter Arab, a quarter Negro. None of this has anything to do with "religion."

Obama's Mother's second husband, Obama's step father, not his natural Dad, was Indonesian and he, the step father was a Muslim. His Mother was born into a Christian family but no real mention of what faith she held or believed in that I can readily recall. Maybe someone else on this site can recall his Mom's religious affilation. Obama was raised by his Grandmother on his Mother's side, and she was an active, practicing Christian, as was her husband, who was Obama's Grandfather on his Mother's side.

ASIDE: Obama's Grandfather on his Mother's side was a WW II combat veteran, since this is supposed to be a military ssite.

As an adult Obama joined a Black oriented Disciples of Christ (that is a Protestant Denomination) church in Chicago. He resigned from that church as the pastor preaches and preaches "liberation theology" which basically condemns folks today who happen to be White or Caucasian for the past history of slavery in the US. Salvery was a worldwide problem and while seldom mentioned today still exists quietly in some of the most back, by the way Muslim majority, African nations.

Hope these bits and pieces of info help you understand that President Obama has never been a Muslim, and there is no such thing as being born or being half Muslim.

Have a good week.

So what if he's not Hindu?? The PM is a Sikh and is respected by ALL Muslim/Hindu/Christian alike and even by other world leaders (voted best head of state in the WORLD by other leaders)

India is/should move on from looking down religious lines, it is only ignorant people who continue to do so, one day soon India will get there.

Regards to Antony, yes it is a good thing he is transparent but it is no good if everyone below him is not and incompetent, he needs to conduct a major reform of MOD/accusation process, yes he brings out new defence procurement schemes but they have very little effect and there is a huge bottleneck in MOD when armed forces, after conducting thorough and professional trails pass them on to them. Just look at howitzers, BAE Hawk, MMRCA (not so much tbh, it's a VERY complex tender) etc

More ex-servicemen need to go into MOD but don't copy British lead.

I agree with you on all the points discussed.

he needs to conduct a major reform of MOD/accusation process

You mean acquisition. It may seem like knit picking here.. But the truth is, in defense contracts or any high value contracts for that matter acquisition precedes accusation (Bribe/lobbying exposed by media).

so, ABD is ahead of time. In parlance of Indian defense contracts acquisition and accusation are inseparable.:tup:

.
There is something called over doing it aka not working smarter but harder. This is the reason they did an overkill on field guns and waited almost 3 decades to replace /upgrade the arsenal. Anthony is not capable of meeting and yet being unbiased ? Does he not have confidence in being lobbied and yet stand apart?

. .
its a good thing that we have a person like hime especially in the defence sector.we need honest and silent ministers in the defence sector. Not like other people where they tell a countries secrets for money
