There is a division in GoI over MRCA.

Antony doesn't want to go for decades old F-18/F-16's but MMS section and imports lobby are trying hard to change his mind.

This division is clear with the fact that GoI isn't even on board with his decision and he is left behind to explain the reason for not attending. If everyone had been on board, Chidambaram and Pranab wouldn't attend either.

I think in the end, the puppet MMS will veto and go with US firms. Such vetoes are common in Indian history where nationalists are dumped with support of powerful foreign lobbies.

Hey listen up and stop living in a BUBBLE....Indian has serious issues with religion and things are changing for the better as time goes on. I made an observation that if this guy was elected, it could be very beneficial for INDia....He is not corrupt and he has an excellent reputation with regard to that......On top of that he is not easily swayed by World powers.....the bottom line is that he looks what is best in India's interest first and foremost. Sure, in one way if India purchased those old F-18's it would be beneficial in terms of geo political strategy but we are not getting the same level of tech transfer as Gripen , Rafale, or Typhoon. I believe 2 of those aircrafts offer India to be a partner which is beneficial in the long run. What has the US offered in regards to F-18? Why won't they make a favorable decision regarding CISMOA...I'm sure its for their security but if they want to move this forward well the ball is in AMerica's court. Back to religion, religion plays a big role in politics in certain states that have huge population. Stop blind to India's problems.....you can only correct what you see. That said stop attacking me for my thoughts and opinions.

India-US DPG meeting is not just about MRA, they have much greater issues regarding joint collaborations. The meeting should be held at rite time. The MRCA or state elections cannot be the reason postponing it.

US needs India more, than otherwise. It's a waning power in Asia. It's only hope is blackmail India by strangulating its neck with Pakistan strategy with use of threats.

Those who are wise can see through this and won't fall for blackmail.

And most importantly, postponing a meeting with so-called "superpower" USA, is not big deal. "India" can do that because it has that stature. It can decide when it wants to meet US counterparts and I don't think US is even complaining openly.

Clearly, USA understands what is at stake so, they won't say anything silly in open.

Clearly you are delusional man. You have no exposure again! USA needs India more than India does???? Then why is India lining up to get access to American Tech...that was denied to it? There may be some religious problems in India but its only relegated to a small portions of the country mostly in rural areas. And these are rarely a purely religious problem. Most of the time these are social problems mixed with religion e.g. Kandhamal in Orissa.

Can you explain to me how a party run by a catholic Women with a Sikh as a Prime Minister is in Power for last 7 years in a country with 80% Hindus if majority of Hindus are communal?

I agree with you that there are some room for improvement but saying that Hindus won't vote for Anthony because he is Christian is BS.
