The code name 'game changer' for this weapon is just to boost the morale of their troops.
Most of the time troops in engagements dont see talibans.
If you see these videos of war in afghanistan you will notice troops fire a burst and then take cover less then 3 to 4 seconds in their own bases when comes under attack.
when they get ambushed outside their bases they raise their heads even less so finding a target then aiming and programming the grenades will take more time and during that solider will be exposed to enemy fire(who is actully looking at you cause they are ambushing you in most cases).
i know you are the military proffesional ... but in my view if that was the case ....
would US be still in Afganisthan ....9 years since 9/11 ans still with no fixed timeline when Coalition troops will evacuate....
my 2 cents...
More weapons to kill more innocent Afghans!!!
All Heil Karzai...
Is it no secret the terrorists target civilians indiscriminately within populated areas such as shopping centers, mosques and schools in their bid to destabilize Afghanistan and Pakistan? Unfortunately innocent civilians are the victims who continue to pay the highest price.
XM25S weapons are designed to accurately identify enemy firing positions in order to avoid civilian casualties, unlike the Taliban who are without regards for civilian losses during their insurgency attacks. Unwilling to face ISAF or Afghan security forces as soldiers, the Taliban prefer to kill with remotely controlled IEDs, or suicide bombers who are more likely to kill civilians than combatants. This has been confirmed again and again by independent human rights observers.
The comments by users do not state facts, but reflect personal points of view, and so a question must be asked? Are you serving justice by undermining the US progression in Afghanistan? Had not the killings and brutality during the Taliban regime completely halted Afghanistans progression? The War on Terrorism (WOT) did not just free Afghanistan from the grip of Taliban. The WOT also revealed how the Taliban had been freely conducting crimes against the Afghan people. The complexities of this war should not be overlooked but one must understand that US and NATO forces have been working night and day to secure Afghanistan while training security forces in accordance with the Afghan government. Everything is getting done according to the plan and the announcement of 2014 simply outlines our drawdown in the region. Are you aware now that we have set up a timeline of when coalition troops will evacuate? I will state some factual information for you to review and contrary to your statement, If you see these videos of war in Afghanistan you will notice troops fire a burst and then take cover less than 3 to 4 seconds in their own bases when comes under attack, I have attached videos of the US and NATO forces taking control back from the Taliban. Here you can watch how American, Italian and Afghan forces are securing Bala Murghab and have taken the control back from the Taliban.

Here you can watch Afghan and US troops involved in a major operation to drive the Taliban out of districts surrounding Kandahar.

In the last 90 days, Afghan and coalition forces captured or killed 880 insurgent leaders, killed 384 lower-level insurgents and captured more than 2,300 lower-level insurgents! Do you see how we are protecting innocent Afghans and not killing them?
Such advanced weapons will hopefully hasten the day that the Taliban threat is removed from Afghan cities and villages, enabling the Afghans to assume security responsibility for their own country.
