India should consider making a request to Pakistan Government for an approval for sale of JF-17's to IAF. May be Pakistan will consider selling a scaled downed version that would suffice for Indians. You know its all in the family at least Baap and Beta thingy...

Why would they do that? I can think of 2 reasons..

1) Pakistan is going to be the second world super power surpassing China which will hamper the growth of West
2) Pakistan is going to be a nation which will become a serious threat to world security

Good news,now we can get the gripen which is a better aircraft anyway.Better maneuverability,can land on short airstrips,growth potential until 2050,better AESA radar and meteor BVR. Imagine 100 plus gripen with meteors.Indian air space would be invulnerable.

IAF requirement is 45 Squadrons i.e. 810 fighters

Only 300 SU-30MKIs will remain in service post 2030. All MIGs (21/27/29), M2Ks, Jaguars would be retired by then.

So India would need to induct 500 new fighters in the next decade i.e 50 new fighters very year.

Tejas would only fill 100 of those fighters.

The remaining 400 would be a mix of RAFALEs (Medium) , Gripens (light), PAK-FA/FGFA (Stealth/heavy)
