The second part of your submission suggests that you accept that Islamophobia exists which is in line with the article posted. Mate sometimes I think that some of you forget the world and the clock did not start with the attack on the twin towers some ten years ago.

No one argues that criminals who kill and maim innocent people should not be apprehended and punished appropriately.

But when you talk about root causes the clock did not start Sept 11. When I first heard about the twin towers attack I like most sane people was mortified.

However I started to think about what it is or was that causes a normal human being to consider the drastic action of suicide attacks. After all it goes against the grain of human nature to cause self destruction. I found myself reminiscing about a tv news excerpt I saw I saw on TV some years ago. Where a Palestinian person was holding a dead child in his arms cowering behind a wall. The child had been shot by an Israeli soldier. The bullet may have ricocheted of a wall. But the net result was the same.

It was at that moment I had a moment of clarity. I have two boys one 4 and one 2.5 years. I love them dearly. I am sure some of you may have children and if not children maybe nephews and nieces. I can imagine if anything untoward happened to my kids and I had no recourse to justice maybe I would consider drastic actions.

That Palestinian father only Allah knows what pain he must have gone through. May no one ever have to suffer that immaterial of nationality or religion. He must have blamed Israelis and indirectly Americans for providing weapons to Israelis to carry out atrocities.

I am not saying it is right I am just trying to understand how we got where we are today.

So it is correct to take all actions necessary to prevent terrorists from taking the actions that they do but in a way you are right we need to look at the root causes and we must take away the fertiliser that produces terrorism;

1. We need to address injustice in the UN and in national courts so that no one feels powerless to address injury suffered.

2. We need to educate people and carry out a program of education to make people tolerant and understanding of others.

3. We need to ban sects of cults that encourage these evil acts.

4. Lastly in our search for perpetrators we must not forget what makes us different from terrorists. We must respect human rights of all. We must not cause collateral damage so lightly because we are by eliminating 1 terrorist creating 10 more.

5. We must not forget that govt actions can have unintended consequences of war etc

All I see you and others calling for is treating the decease and not preventing it

So when considering the root causes please do not start the clock Sept 11.

USA was never interested in a war that was happening half a globe away in WW2, they came to the spotlight when the stupid Japanese submerged their entire fleet at Perl Harbor.

How do you know I am not playing my part?? It is better that I speak to make other people understand the duplicity of the British govt an ally of America.

I am sure that people like me encouraged some to take part in anti war demonstrations in the UK. So much so that polls showed that the majority in the UK opposed the wars and that will have some effect on British leaders. Its not an overnight event. It will take time but we can and do organise here and make our voice heard through the ballot box. I think Muslims now constitute soem 5 to 6 per cent of the UK population.
