US an Arab allies begin airstrikes in Syria

Wait until Assad says "We hold our right to respond to a time of our choosing" after getting his entire SAM batteries obliterated by Tomahawks and Saudi SLAM-ERs and JASSMs.

They are attacking ISIL not assad.Assad is chilling in his palace watching one thorn of his take out another.

You are right its too early, but you have to agree that the equipment used is not exactly "COIN" Equipment is it?

It's not, but ISIS has been using Raqqa as their center of operations for awhile now. What's been struck are fixed targets such as command and control buildings, weapons depots, and recruitment centers. It makes sense to strike those with Tomahawks. The deployment of F-22s are interesting though.

.
The title should be changed to the US and its allies airstrikes against the ISIS and the child murderer of Syria Asshead and his thugs.

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and the UAE are taking part in this mission.

You do need Missiles for SEAD. E/A-18 growler could accomplish mission of Radar supression. If JASSMs and Tomahawks are being used against SAM batteries, they would heve not been limited to SAM batteries, and would have also targetted C&C centers.

happy to see these terrorists bombed to hell but I hope they don't expand this campaign against the Syrian govt.

While officially, strike is against ISIS; But presence of Coalition Aircraft over Syria lays down a minefield for Assad. Either he could sit down tight, shuts off all the Radars, and ground his airforce for the duration of strike; or he could try to engage Coalition aircrafts and be oblitrated in return.

Since Syria is in Russia + Iran camp, and both parties are hostile to US + SA; if i am leader of coalition forces, i would be praying that he fires his SAM against an aircraft so that i could have cause-belli to take out Assad's Airforce; Since bombing Syria is not going to be popular with US public opinion.

Hopefully the airstrikes are limited to only ISIS targets and not the Syrian military or the legitimate Syrian government of Bashar Al Assad.
Otherwise there will be reprisals.

Frankly, What could Assad or his allies do, if coalition does bombs him?

.
SOoo... I wonder if they used ISIL to target Syria as well now....

.
They aren't targetting Assad regime. No mentions or whatsoever.

Coalition Force's mission is to focus on weakening ISIS so the FSA and the Iraqi army to retake their areas.

looking at the situation map of Syria, ISIS hold large areas of the north eastern region, while the govt controls the south east. So they shouldn't be flying over where there's no ISIS, the only reason would be to provoke a response so they can go ahead with their criminal regime change operation.

Assad would do well to ignore any ADIZ violations for now unless they target his forces, in which case he will probably respond.

One also shouldn't rule out the possibility of back channel talks with Assad to deal with this ISIS thing, because publicly of course they can't risk irking the Saudis and other regional allies. Could well be the US realizes that having Assad around is better than letting Syria collapse into another Libya type situation. Let's see how this plays out..

Yeah, but Assad is most set to take ISIS lands, more so than the FSA, at least for now, unless there is a no fly zone, in which case, FSA can move in and take it.

All of this reminds me of what a dumpster fire Syria is right now. I feel bad for all the innocent Syrians caught up in this mess.

Daesh in Syria are crying, this is great, their replies are just golden. "Even in their planes they are cowards, bombing people while they are sleep instead of fighting them like men" Hahahahahaha

As long as the operation is being conducted, there is a no-flying zone over Syria for all practical purpose

Side effects of getting spanked by Iron hand of USAF.

US can never mind their own business, can they ?

You are right.

US should have minded it's own business and let Arabs do the bombing of IS. That way RSAF could bomb Assad along with IS without US restraining them for sake of image.

So, Are you sure that US should have minded their business in this case?
