Actually come to think of it Brazil might have a better chance for the empty seat as AFAIK they have fair relations with all the current UNSC powers and are fairly well removed from their geopolitical considerations (except for the US, but Brazil and the US are on good terms).

Yes but then there was questions of where the nucleur submarines will go , what about scotlands natural resources , UK is a small country today , this will make it even smaller , it will affect UK very badly in the international stage .

New bases can be built or go to existing bases, portsmouth, plymouth etc.
Besides the bases in scotland provide thousands of jobs which voters would be keen to see stay open.
Resources...like gas and oil? We became net importers years ago.

All the Western gurus and Japanese scholars have predicted the dismantling of China as a result of Tibetan and Ouigur separatism but they have not predicted their own break up and collapse. Scotland will vote for its independence and seperation from the UK in 2014. There would be a spillover effect as Northern Ireland and Wales would surely ask same for their countries. The Mad Cow racists will find themselves alone to follow the US War Criminals. Belgium also is in the wake of break up as Wallonia and Flanders would seperate to form independent states leading to the collapse and disappearance of Belgium. The EU would face both an economic and unprecedented political crisis as new states like Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Wallonia and Flanders will try to join the EU. That is the reality, China still going more stronger leading to the growing frustration of the White Westerners who are intrisically racists and anti Chinese. Moreover the Chinese and Pakistanese military and economic ailliance will strengthen and become the apex of a counter balance to the US war criminals and Japnese Imperial War criminals.

If Scotland should vote for independence, this of course would mean the breakup of the United Kingdom, meaning the United Kingdom, as a political entity, no longer exists. Of course a non-existing political entity can not have a place on the UN security council, and so there will actually be a spot open.

As per the rules, one of the successor states will have to take the UK's seat. In this case, it will probably be England or what remains of the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Nothing will happen guys. This is a useless discussion imo. UK will remain UK and stay in the UNSC seat. India will get it eventually, but that may take some time.

They have already said that they will endorse our bid if we separate it from the G 4 which includes Japan . Whether we do this or not is a separate question .

I don't think any country is lunatic enough to let go a part of its territory through a referendum and british are definitely not. They already know the outcome of the poll and thus taking the opportunity to show how democratic a western country can be. Nothing but another PR showoff by westerners. Scoots have nothing to gain by separation from UK. And even if hypothetically the do separate UK will still be UK of wales, england & N.Ireland the same way russia inherited the legacy of USSR.

And as for India being an UNSC member, they have to get approval of china first which I believe that china is sane enough to not give.

Brits for sure pushed for early vote knowing there may not be enough vote for break up. With delayed vote Scotland would have better chance to convince more voters and have independence.

Read some previous post with news link, China is ready to support India's bid on condition that we part away from Japan for joint bid UNSC seats.

India or Brazil are definitely better candidates for the UNSC than Japan. They represent different regions and blocs. Japan would just be an US puppet with no independent foreign policy if on the UNSC.

Scotland will never be free now they removed the devo-max option from the referendum. They could of ended like Quebec will full autonomy but too bad.
