UK minister under fire for singling out Pakistani men

Yes, yes we can.

We’ve done it before and we’ll do it again.

Previously we were vastly outnumbered and we still stood up for our beliefs and pushed back against those who wanted to oppress our people and crush their voices.

The situation is different now. We are not as largely marginalised. We have more educated and wealthy community members. Any state machinery would find suppressing our voice to be the hardest task it could ever decide to embark upon
You weren't fighting the state then and there.

However, just as the state brushed you aside during the war of terror excesses and you couldn't counter those abuses, things will be more dire now with the added mix of hindutva ideology in the state apparatus.

The conservatives and their hindutva poodles will be voted out by the end of 2024 and Labour will come in to power. Besides, rishi sunak and suella braverman are very much hated by the white english people in the UK. They want the indians voted out more than we do.

What one should expect from an Indian, its in their DNA to target Muslims/Pakistan. Previous Indian home secretary was no different either, even born and bread abroad doesn't washes away their spots and biases.
Thanks Jinnah for creating the Pakistan but we should be ashamed for not looking after our own country. We got the freedom from the British and the Hindu bunias and our own shameless, pathetic army hijacked the country to enslave their own people.
There’s an Indian here telling us not to worry about Indians.
Am I right? @Kaniska

Nice motherfvcker. See you on the batlefield. Hindu rapist LOL
Some of us don’t need to go to England or IOK to deal with them…

Politics in the western democracies have shifted to the right and labour will have their fair share of Rishi, Priti and Suella.

surprised a serving minister would say such politically incorrect things.
even more surprising the kind of comments by brit pakistanis here - are they putting on a brave front and just want everyone to see how tough they are or is that really so in the UK?

Again..even i have seen your post…I am really amazed to see the amount of hatred and the types of words you’ve used in spite of being in Western countries…
BTW - Just do some further research about her wrt Indian…She proposed to limit number of visas for Indian people to UK…

This Indian bitch's comment is highly ironic considering her home country has the highest incidence of mass rape, rape, sexual assault, etc in the world.

But ,her father is a Christain from Kenya ,mother is a from Mauritius ..she is born in UK and is married to a Jew and follows Buddhism
who is Hindu and what she has to do with India .. other than her ancestors were of Indian Origin..
Home Secretary is not decision maker..she follows the Govt policy

LONDON: British Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s remarks that British-Pakistani men “hold cultural values at odds with British values” have been criticised by political commentators and children’s charities as “inflammatory” and akin to initiating “race wars”.

Ms Braverman came under fire when, during a Sky News interview about plans to tackle child sexual abuse, she spoke about “the predominance of British-Pakistani males who hold cultural values totally at odds with British values”.

“[British-Pakistani men] see women in a demeaned, illegitimate way, and pursue an outdated and frankly heinous approach to the way we behave,” Ms Braverman commented after she was informed that a Home Office report in 2020 concluded that most child sexual abuse gangs are made up of white men under the age of 30, and that there was not enough evidence to suggest members of grooming gangs were disproportionately more likely to be Asian or black.

Ms Braverman instead pointed to reports from Rotherham, which was rocked by a child sexual exploitation scandal in which five British-Pakistani men were convicted of grooming, raping and exploiting young girls. The home secretary also cited a 2015 report penned by Dame Louise Casey CB, which ironically noted how British-Pakistani community had been “harmed by association” in the scandal.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is expected to roll out new measures to tackle sexual violence against children, said the grooming gang crackdown would defy “political correctness”. However, he did not repeat Ms Braverman’s comments targeting Pakistanis.

The government vowed that experienced specialist officers and members of the National Crime Agency will assist police forces with their investigations into child sexual abuse cases.

Reaction

Speaking on a Sky News show after Ms Braverman, West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin said, “It feels very dog whistle, if I may say, and it doesn’t deal with what is happening on the ground.”

British actor and presenter Adil Ray was one of many who pointed out that, as per the Home Office report in 2020, most perpetrators are white. Braverman was attorney general at the time [it was published].”

British-American political commentator Mehdi Hasan tweeted, “Despite heavy competition, and despite her own ethnicity, Suella Braverman may be the most bigoted, cynical, and dangerous politician to emerge from the modern UK Conservative Party in many decades. This is vile and dishonest stuff.”

Former chief prosecutor Nazir Afzal, too, drew attention to the predominance of white male perpetrators in child sexual abuse case data.

“Suella Braverman knows that 84% of child sex offenders are white British, but chooses to focus on those who are not,” he posted.

For The Independent, journalist Adam Forrest penned a column titled “Is Sunak’s grooming gangs crackdown just ‘dog whistle’ politics?”, in which he wrote, “The suspicion remains that the Tories have latched upon the grooming gangs issue again in order to create controversy, rile up voters in the Midlands and north of England and demonstrate they are the party willing to say the “unsayable”.

Chief Executive of the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Sir Peter Wanless, said government’s focus on tackling such crimes was welcome, but race should not be the focus.

“Child sexual exploitation by organised networks is one pernicious form of abuse and it’s welcome to see the government focus on disrupting perpetrators and protecting victims. This must be backed up with funding for services to help child victims recover and support for a justice system that is struggling to cope.

“It’s also vital we remember that any child can be a victim of child sexual exploitation and adult perpetrators do not just come from one background. Sexual predators will target the most vulnerable and accessible children in society and there must be a focus on more than just race so we do not create new blind spots that prevent victims from being identified.”

Sabah Kaiser, an ethnic minority ambassador to the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse led by Professor Alexis Jay, who investigated child abuse in Rotherham, said, it was “very, very dangerous” for the government to turn child sexual abuse into a matter of colour.

“Child sexual abuse does not have a skin colour, it doesn’t have a religion. It doesn’t have a culture. Child sexual abuse does not discriminate. And so therefore, it is really, really important that we as a nation have a singular societal response to this issue,” she told Today on BBC 4.

“It is really important that we do not turn this very, very important issue into an issue about colour. Because let’s be frank, let’s be serious: that grabs headlines, but that is not helpful for this topic.”

@waz

I have noticed that ever since the Hindutva have taken over Britain there is a constant attack against Pakistani community by both the far right and Indians. How are you guys experiencing this in Britain? How are things after the Leicester riots? Any chance of mass communal violence?
This horrible woman should be fired if that is the extreme views she holds. In total disregard of the facts she has made blatant anti-Pakistani remarks and should be forcefully kicked out. It's people like her who inspire ISIS and the Taliban and Modi must be proud of her as a disciple.

Hi, you seem like a decent person and been a long term member here so I will reply in a respectful manner,You can thank your people for my way of thinking. I was indifference to them for a long time until I started noticing the one way hatred from Indians across the social media. I didn’t care since it was online until I saw a few of them randomly curse at a Pakistan family at a restaurant in NJ. It wasn’t your typical Pakistani Indian bullshit, but had a religious undertone to it. Irony, the older generations gets along fine or are peaceful to each others overseas, but as some of the British Pakistani members can verify, this new Hindutva nationalist ones coming into western countries are bringing their homegrown extremist anti Muslim/Pakistani baggage and ruining decades of cordial relationships between Pakistanis and Indians. The Icing on the cake was an incident at the Smithsonian museum in DC where this Indian guy with a child, shoulder checked me while I was taking a photo of my wife. It wasn’t an accident as my wife saw him give us really nasty looks before this guy went out of his way and did this. I stopped from going after him because a) he had a child b) physically assaulting would’ve cost my career as I work in a very sensitive field. Avoiding any type of trouble is highly preferable.
As a former police officer, I understand the laws better than most people. I walked over to the security desk ( mind you, this being DC and has DC police, Museum police, Secret Service everywhere), I explained to them that I was just assaulted by so and so and have witnesses who saw this, including the cameras.
The officers detained that guy, reviewed the footage and saw how he went out of way to purposefully walked towards my direction and use his shoulder as a weapon. I pressed charges and had him arrested for a simple assault because the idiot couldn’t contain his feelings/hatred. It’s obvious what’s going on in India is bleeding into your overseas communities. The Pakistani American community is well established and has the monetary resources/leverage to defend ourselves.

The far-right have all splintered now and are not a force. New factions have emerged but are now more concerned with the threat of the woke left, LGBTQ, marxism, culture attacks etc.

The current government is not elected and their plastic premier Rishi is on borrowed time. They are both hated by minorities for being sellouts and despised by the white majority. I mean the man lost a leadership contest to someone who couldn't even string a sentence together Liz Truss.....What's that saying about him?
The current tax burden is at its highest since the Second World War, inflation is through the roof and we are being ripped off by energy and water companies and this dumb Puddu does nothing about it. That's good in a way as he is now the most hated man in politics.
His sidekicks in particular this goblin Suella is equally despised and the clock is ticking.
Many conservatives have already stated they will not stand for office in the coming general election as they face wipeout by Labour.

As for riots the Hindutva lot were made into a bloody mess. Many of them have fled the UK, the rest cower away fearing for their very lives. This isn't India where their police will back them and they show off with their bulldozers. Here they learnt a lesson they will never forget. The UK police didn't care and let them get smashed. Now you have the Sikhs on their cases 24 hours a day haha.
Things are actually very good.

Holy moly, that's rough.

I've had run ins with hindutvas too, but not very many. I almost got into a fight with a Hindutva gang who kept pestering me in Southall (place in the UK that has a high Indian population and pretty much every race from the subcontinent goes there to shop/eat out). Long story short, nothing escalated because I walked off and they didn't pursue (or if they did, they couldn't find me)
But I've been called a bunch of things by these morons before, just walking through the school, such as being called a follower of a p*do (referring to you know who) which I honestly didn't take well and almost folded the dumb shmucks nose inwards. His boys were there and mine were too but it was a public place, so it wasn't in anyone's interest to escalate
Looking at her i almost broke my fast in disgust -
La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah
How is that even possible lmao
