Agree - there is a lot of IP that Pakistan could have picked up had it taken its relationship with Denel to its logical conclusion. Now - it seems that UAE will benefit from the demise of Denel. It is always the same problem - lack of strategic thought by the MOD and Armed forces of Pakistan..

What UAE is lacking is a platform to fire these weapons from. Have they integrated it with their F16s, or Mirages? Are all these being developed for Checkmate ?

As a side note - it seems that UAE is moving faster than India right now interms of smart weapons development.

It would be embarrasing if Pakistan purchases any of these plaforms from UAE - ie total policy failure ...

I'm afraid the uptake of personnel and knowhow by Pakistan on a scale as done in the case of UAE would have been impossible. Even if we had made all the necessary efforts. Major players have a different attitude toward Pakistan vis a vis UAE, or Saudi. South Africa would have been simply forbidden by the Western powers. Or there could have been other possible measures, some unpleasant ones too. Besides, their people would have been reluctant to work for organizations under sanctions in Pakistan. UAE enjoys West's patronage, and there's no risk of technology leaks to China. Then, there's the question of funds for the projects and pays/dividends for the technical people. We could not ever offer similar goodies to the South Africans.
So, chill out, people. Be easy on ourselves. We did get some help from SA for some stuff. Anything more than that would have attracted attention. And with attention comes scrutiny and countermeasures. We're not anybody's blue-eyed boy after all.

The Saber missile is a ALCM with 1200kg weight, 290km range, a 200kg payload, SATCOM guidance, 0.8 mach speed and a turbofan.

Halcon from the UAE is also developing an anti ship missile called the HAS-250.

The only thing that matters to me is the aesthetics.

We need to learn how to sell our stuff. I'm not talking about our missiles (since they are strategic weapons), but our UAVs and even the JF-17 need better marketing and presentation.

These will have a 90% chance of being integrated on the Mirage-2000s and a smaller chance of being used on the F-16s.

The Mirages are generally used more for strike and the F-16s more so for air combat.

In the future they will add an infrared seeker for automatic target engagment and terrain mapping features to allow it to fly at a very low altitude. Those upgrades will make it comparable to the Storm Shadow missile.

This is all great and fine and dandy, but I would like to see the EAF receive it's pair of A330-MRTTs FIRST, before the UAE gets its 3rd and 4th here!? If it doesn't happen, then we'll know the usual shenanigans are at play again and even if it's the UAE, it makes matters much worst as Airbus will be trying to divide undisputed brothers in arms, but fact is fact, the EAF ordered 2, signed the contract, paid whatever was in the contract 3 months ago. Therefore, it's only normal to expect the EAF delivery first before the UAE gets its, right?

Yeah man, this thing has certainly stolen the show, as far as the missiles systems they put out there this year. And given the other models on display, that is a hard feat to accomplish but that is one badass-looking cruise missile. Now if the integration is as simple as the Al-Tariq seems to be based on all the pics we've seen, then these CMs will be flying off the self and headed west very quickly lol.

Raad has a weight of 1100kg vs 1200kg for the Saber, Raad 2 should be lighter. Also our own cruise missiles can identify targets and take them out even without GPS. Probably a launch aircraft weight limit as well. Bombs with range extension kits can be carried in multiples. We can't spare single aircraft against single conventional targets. We do have CM400s negating need for additional 120-290km class range missile.

Curious which aircraft would UAE mod for launching these, they would soon get rid of M2Ks, F-16B60 US will oppose, this leaves Rafael ?

The saber missile will get IR seeker and TERCOM in future variants according to a design engineer at Halcon.

It will likely be carried on Rafale and Mirages before their replacement in 2026.

Rafale can carry two of these on the hardpoints that the SCALP can be carried on.
