UAE celebrity discriminates arabs vs non arab migrants, admits treating nonarab migrants differently

Just land at one of the GCC airports and feel the arab welcome.

A long time ago I talked to an English guy who travelled to Saudi. When he arrived at the terminal, there was a large amount of Indian/Pakistanis infront of him, it was a massive queue. The Saudi airport saw this small group of white men at the back of the queue and ushered them forward. They were processed and out in a few minutes.

Do you have more fairytales to tell us? 1001 Arabian Nights would be a good start.

Arabs, Arab expats, non-Arab expats, stewardesses etc. all standing in the same check in.

And here is a solo woman (South Asian) traveling to KSA.

But you continue parroting "my neighbors's cousin's brother's girlfriend was once showered by gold because she looked like this" type of rhetoric.

while the poor Pakistani/Indian was showered with manure and had to stand in the check in for 10 hours.

Those filthy Arabs are such racists man. Hosting the largest South Asian diaspora in the world. Enabling some of the richest and most influential South Asians to build up their business career in the GCC. The DOZENS of Pakistanis who live in KSA on PDF are also treated as virtual slaves. Just ask them. Zero rights.:( I think that I am going to cry any second now at the horrors.

"Discrimination/looking down on people" is tied to status in the GCC, not race. Much of the foreign labour from South Asia is composed of low-skilled and uneducated labour. Many being illiterates. So when some people only see cleaners, manual workers etc. the reputation follows suit. If every South Asian expat was a nuclear physicist, the community would be perceived differently by those people in question.

you are probably not much educated by your government about the south asian role in the development of UAE. the UAE currency used to be rupees, minted by indian govt itself and before adopted of dirhams, the south asians are not only in manual labour but also serving at high ranking posts as well in professional fields.

UAE culture is very much reflected its dominant south asian cuisine, the chai karak etc, so SA have contributed even culturally on UAE as well, you guys use indian spices, indian method of cooking, indian ghee, chutney, where did all that come from, the cuisine of GCC is practically indian, it tastes south asian, it basically is a variant of south asian cuisine.

What have the arabs from other arab lands contributed anything to UAE in the first place to recieve such good treatment and status?

You talked about dilmun, wasn't dilmun minting seals resembling indus civilization, what does that tell you about indian influence in dilmun, or what about the earliest steel swords excavated from Arabian peninsula which was imported form india/south asia

I was referring to the racist Gulf Arabs not the decent ones. Hence I even used the term, "Gulfis". NO, I do not hate Arabs. Trust me, when Iraq and Syria were attacked, I was hurt a lot. I even attended the 2003 protests against the Iraq invasion. I have donated a lot of money to Iraqi and Syrian charities. Iraqis, Syrians, Jordanians and Lebanese are friendly towards Pakistanis and we get along fine. Saudi people have a bad attitude though. They are not likeable.

Is it me, but why are all Saudis I have EVER met so slow at everything. Slow at writing, eating, typing, walking, talking and even take at least an hour in the toilet.
Lol,
You say that in front of an iraqi or lebanese and I bet my wealth that you will be called something you won’t like.

GCC arabs are way better than those you mentioned at least.

I don't know whats more disgusting... the racist attitude of Persian gulf arabs towards darker skinned individuals??

or some darker skinned individuals rationalizing it and thinking its ok to act like an uncivilized animal as long as its in your country....?

Racism has no place in modern human society. it is a disgusting, abhorrent practice and culture the white man has unfortunately left on society...Racism is not only wrong, but it will internally decay, weaken and destroy a non-homogenous nation over time.

Racism has no history or root in Iran. Hence the extreme racial harmony and high levels of Iranian nationalism among all groups of people. this changes in Iran's expat community living in the west with the white man.

a lot of expat Iranians take extreme offense to being accidently called "arab" and quickly correct anyone who makes that mistake. as an example... the white mans culture rubbing off

I know that you are a Bihari/Muhajir and that fellow Pakistanis accuse you (constantly) of parroting an "Indian" (whatever that is given that there are 1000's of different ethnic groups in India and languages and that India was never once in history united before the Brits did it in 1947) history to replace the native Pakistani one, but you are taking it a step too far now.

UAE used the rupee (makes no difference it was British controlled) because the Trucial States

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trucial_States

became a British protectorate. The protectorate was grouped with British "India" for administrative purposes and due to geography.

I think I wrote, on numerous occasions, that Indians/South Asians don't only make up low-skilled, manual labour but the majority do/have historically done so.

What the hell are you blabbering? In what universe is Arabian cuisine even remotely Indian?

Most of the spices that we Arabs use are natural herbs that originate in the Arab world and the exotic spices that we use originate from SOUTH EAST ASIA and China, not India. It were the Arabs that controlled the Indian Ocean/Arabian Sea spice trade after all.

You really make yourself hard to take seriously with such absurd claims.

I want to remind you of the fact that agriculture originate in the Arab world of all places on the planet.

I think that you have no clue about the Arab expat contribution to UAE.

As for foreigners, those that contributed the most historically (setting up business communities in what is Dubai today) were mostly Iranian Arabs and Southern Iranians just across the pond (Sunni Persians). You need to do a bit of reading.

Besides UAE is a tiny part of Arabia (tiny part of Eastern Arabia moreover) that has had little historical importance.

Dilmun was a native Semitic civilization that PREDATES IVC. The alphabet that the IVC used came from the Arab world and the first alphabets were created by our ancestors. The first known alphabet (ancestor of almost every alphabet today) is the Proto-Sinaitic script native to Sinai.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-Sinaitic_script

IVC barely has any literature, from what I am aware of, we don't even know a single name of a single IVC ruler. Dilmun rulers for instance are attested in writings of neighboring Sumer 4500 years ago.

Anyway you carry one.

As for swords, ever heard about the DAMASCUS STELL/SWORDS? Last time I checked this is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world and an ancient Semitic/Arab city located in Southern Syria.

Swordsmanship has a far longer recorded history in the Arab world than South Asia as well.

:lol::lol:

the amount of nationalistic delusion you have is staggering, you seem pretty bad on history, the proto sinaitic script is from mid 2nd mil BC, the dilmun script (variant of IVC script) is from 3rd mil BC, the script prevalent then in the middle east was cunieform script not proto sinaitic script.

Writing well-established historical facts to counter your absurdities does not equal nationalism.

Which descends from the Egyptian heiroglyphs that are dated to 3200 BC.

The cuneiform scripts found in Sumer, Dilmun etc. (and the dozens of other ancient civilizations in the Arab world) are also native to the Arab world.

In fact cuneiform were created in what is modern-day Southern Iraq!

Cuneiform, or Sumero-Akkadian cuneiform,[a] was one of the earliest systems of writing, invented by Sumerians in ancient Mesopotamia.[4][5] It is distinguished by its wedge-shaped marks on clay tablets, made by means of a blunt reedfor a stylus.[6][7][8][9] The term cuneiform comes from "cunea", Latin for "wedge".[10][11][12]

You will probably start parroting that Sumer was somehow Bihar/India next. No offense but hard to take seriously.

BTW I have nothing against Indians, Indian users can attest to this here. @Kaniska @prashantazazel etc. but the truth must be spoken.

After watching the video seems like he was speaking of expats and Egyptians thought he was referring to them and he sought to clarify he was not. He does say he holds Arab expats in different perspective than Asian ones. I don't know the person or his history or what he means by that, but if he does look down on Asian expats than it is wrong and he should denounce should view and abandon it. I do not think he is a bad person deep down in his heart. He just has a sense of community with fellow Arabs and Arabic language is pretty blunt so people may assume bad intentions when translated but if they knew how blunt the language is they may not always think that.

As an Arab I can tell you it's one of most sophisticated languages and one Arabic phrase can have 10 different meanings in some cases. That's not the case with this Emirate guy as his point was pretty clear but for other cases it can be confusing.

Sorry man not believing you, there is definitely same attitude this Emirate guy has in Iran and Turkey too. They are minority however and we the majority do not let them change the social norms.

Such discussions like these he has on twitter can actually help reform his views by getting feedback from other people in social media. So I expect him to change for better.

He said absolutely nothing racist. If he had said that he is treating or would treat non-Arabs in a worse way, that would have been racism and not something that I would have supported. It would also be against the laws of UAE. GCC countries have some of the most strict hate speech laws in existence. You can literally risk jail sentences for racially/sectarian motivated hate speech. Even regional/inter-Arab clan/tribal rivalry (bordering xenophobia or stereotypes) is punished when caught online. Completely unacceptable in the public sphere outside of light-hearted joking.

Recently PDF posted examples of this when Indian expats insulting Muslims (Indians and Pakistanis) were deported. A thread on this very section was made about this.

I am sick and tired of the 2020 nonsense where everything is looked at racially and every statement is deemed as racist by butthurt people from every corner. This political correctness is beyond belief. You cannot state that you put a special emphasis or care about your own brethren before you get labelled as a racist.

Next you won't be allowed to say that your children, wife, siblings, nephews, nieces, uncle and other family members have a special place and that you care more about them than random people.

Or that you are closer to your age old friends than a new work colleague.

Or that you have a closer cultural, racial, historical, linguistic, religious (whatever you chose) connection to people x over people y.

Oh, no, that would be racism!!!!!!

Next up, if I state that a fellow Arab is closer to me on every front, than say a Muslim Mongolian is, I will be deemed a racist for stating a fact/stating the obvious. That must also automatically mean that I hate non-Arab Muslims, right, LOL.

Just because I have a special affinity for x does not mean that I dislike/hate/look down upon y. It is an absurd notion.

When an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Iranian etc. states the obvious, nobody moves an eyebrow. When Arabs do it, hell breaks loose. I am sick and tired of this victim mentality from certain non-Arabs here.

All while the same Arabs hosts more foreigners from all corners of the world than anybody else in the Muslim world.

Sure, are there racist Arabs, of course there are, after all we are talking about a nation of 500 million people, 20 + countries and one of the largest diasporas in the world. Are there racists and bad apples only among Arabs? Of course not.

I just find it pathetic to witness posts from people who themselves engage in racist/tribal/secterian nonsense 24/7 on PDF even among themselves. It even becomes more pathetic when the same users (crying in this thread) themselves are racist against Arabs, lol. Comedic beyond belief but why would I even waste my time stating the obvious? The echo chamber would continue.

I agree with you I don't think he is racist, it's more like he feels closer to other Arabs than non-Arabs. I see a lot of people from lots of backgrounds say similar things and you are right on this forum most of focus is only on Arab figures echoing such feelings.

However, I think there needs to be a line drawn for all ethnicity's and nationalities. If one is Arab let's say, and he prefers to marry another Arab because it's an easier process and something they are more familiar with, that is not racism. Same case if an Asian prefers marriage with an Asian. There are outliers who can make intermarriage process work fine, and that is fine as well. Such as Muslims in the West who share common language/culture even if they share different background. It's more about convenience and not race driven purposes.

But, we also need to understand we are fellow Muslims and live in a globalized world. For case of Emirate guy, his nations invites expats from Asia and thus it would be illogical and immoral to treat them differently or share perspective that they are lesser than others. So we can't let these realities evolve into something that they aren't, in which people feel they are different creations or that others should be treated differently or that everyone should become Turkish, Arab, Asian, Iranian nationalists. Once it gets to that point it gets out of control and makes people lose sense of why they were created by God and they develop a mindset of the world that is not compatible with what God informed us. It will affect us spiritually. So having sense of background/community is fine in moderation as long as it doesn't affect our morality/brotherly hood.

Anything more than that is unhealthy spiritually and will not lead to the satisfaction of the soul.

A friend of mine was on an India/ Nepal flight. For some reason, the flight was cancelled at the last minute. The Indian airport staff took all the white people on the flight to a hotel, but not the brown!
