(CNN) -- Intelligence officials on Saturday unveiled five different videos of Osama bin Laden that were confiscated from the deadly raid at his Pakistan compound -- part of an information haul considered to be the most significant amount of intelligence ever collected from a senior terrorist.
In one video, bin Laden is wearing what a wool cap with a blanket draped around his shoulders. He is holding a TV clicker and rocking in his chair. Bin Laden, sporting a gray beard, is seen flipping through a selection of satellite channels as he views video footage of himself.
One of the videos is a message to the United States officials believe was recorded in October or November. Officials didn't play the audio because, they said, it would be inappropriate. In that video, bin Laden's beard has been dyed black.
The three other videos are practice sessions for videos he was planning to release to the world.
A senior intelligence official briefing reporters at the Pentagon said last week's raid by U.S. forces yielded a significant amount of intelligence, and a special federal taskforce -- including members of the CIA and FBI -- is combing through the material.
The officials say the DNA evidence unquestionably shows that the person shot and killed in the Pakistan compound was bin Laden.

Washington (CNN) -- Haunting and candid videos emerged of Osama bin Laden on Saturday, never-seen-before footage that provides clues into the psyche and stature of the world's most wanted terrorist.

Intelligence officials on Saturday unveiled five different videos of bin Laden that were confiscated from the raid by U.S. forces at his Pakistan compound, which left the al Qaeda leader and four others dead.

Officials say the new videos and other information collected from the site in Abbottabad are considered to be the most significant amount of intelligence ever collected from a senior terrorist.

The video and other intelligence show that the slain al Qaeda leader was very much in control over the network's day-to-day operations, according to Pentagon officials briefing reporters.

One video looks like a home movie, a portrait of an old man watching television, but it is an image of a terrorist and suggests how conscious bin Laden was of his image.

Sporting a white-gray beard, bin Laden is seen sitting in front of a small television, flipping through a selection of satellite channels as he intently views video footage of himself.

A hunched Bin Laden is wearing a dark wool cap with a blanket draped around his shoulders, holding a clicker and slightly rocking in his seat in spartan surroundings.

One of the videos is a message to the United States officials believe was recorded in October or November. Officials didn't play the audio because, they said, it would be inappropriate. In that video, bin Laden's beard has been dyed black and he was well-composed as he delivered his message.

The three other videos are practice sessions for videos he was planning to release to the world.

A senior intelligence official briefing reporters at the Pentagon said last week's raid by U.S. forces yielded a significant amount of intelligence, and that a special federal taskforce -- including members of the CIA and FBI -- is combing through the material.

The official also said the DNA evidence unquestionably shows that the person shot and killed in the Pakistan compound was bin Laden.

The intelligence officials said they are trying to determine what bin Laden's death means to the future of al Qaeda and are combing through intelligence to get clues on where other top al Qaeda leaders are.

The No. 2 man in al Qaeda is Ayman al-Zawahiri; another top militant is Anwar al-Awlaki, the U.S. born militant who is a leader in the group's Yemen branch.

This week, al-Awlaki eluded a drone attack in southern Yemen as security personnel continue their hunt for him.

is this really true?

Videos are of OSAMA BIN Laden found on raid. This videos are not of killing him.

In videos, some shooting is shown. Probably it is practice video before actual message is being recorded. We can see he hovering his head here and their.

FCQING FAQUE! America sucks big time :D The official bluder in which osama is watching himself and a ghost is making the video about whom Osama is not simply aware. Also he is trying to hide himself when he is watching his own videos.. and which channel was airing these videos before this issue got height? Osama was not even in news any time during the years before that.

And why would he let a ghost shoot him when he was so secretive about his presence?? American Government is so Cartoonish!
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

There is some footage of Osama trimming and dyeing his beard before recording one of the "video messages" that he released off and on.
LOL, Osama's "home movies"; interesting stuff.

The US has released five video clips of Osama bin Laden that it says was taken from the Pakistani compound where the leader of al-Qaeda was reportedly killed last week.

The videos mainly show bin Laden rehearsing taped remarks, but there is also video showing him watching news coverage of himself on TV.

Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan, reporting from the Pentagon in Washington DC, said that the video clips were shown to journalists, but the sound was removed from them.

"We did see a video of Osama bin Laden watching video of himself on what appears to be Al Jazeera," she said.

Wayne Madsen, an investigative journalist speaking to Al Jazeera from Washington DC, said that it was still difficult to confirm that all these videos do show bin Laden, as some are not clear.

"There are going to be many more questions raised after the release of these videos, because there have been videos and images in the past that were thought to be of bin Laden, but some of those turned out to be fake."

Compound videos

Earlier on Saturday, Al Jazeera obtained new footage of the compound where Osama bin Laden was killed, that showed the interiors of the house where the al-Qaeda leader is thought to have been hiding for up to six years.

Filmed during daylight hours, there is no doubt that this is the house where bin Laden was shot and killed by US forces, Al Jazeera's Imtiaz Tyab said, reporting from the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

"These pictures ... give a sense of just how Osama bin Laden - the world's most wanted fugitive - lived relatively undetected right here in Abbottabad," our correspondent said.

It was not immediately clear how long after the raid that the footage was taken.
