Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

http://www.sabah.com.tr/gundem/2017/08/04/suriye-sinirina-askeri-sevkiyat TSK is sending more military equipment to the border city of Kilis near Afrin. There is something to happen if not i just dont see any logic in so many forces in that area. We have enough tanks, personnel and artillery systems to maintain the security in the captured territories but they send more and more. The article states that 5 howitzers, tanks and military vehicles have been send to Kilis.

MAKING SENSE OF TURKEY’S SYRIA STRATEGY: A ‘TURKISH TRAGEDY’ IN THE MAKING

Following Turkish foreign policy has never been more exciting and terrifying. With its ever-increasing footprint in Syria, Turkey is now a full-fledged party to the civil war. The risks associated with the Turkish presence are multi-faceted. Incursions into Syria can trigger not only a direct war between Turkey and whatever is left of the Assad regime, but an indirect one with Iran and possibly Russia.

The more likely scenario involves Turkey in open conflict (not only occasional shelling and air strikes) with the People’s Protection Units (YPG, sometimes referred to as PYD, its political arm)), the Syrian Kurdish militant group with organic ties to Turkey’s arch-nemesis the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK). Such a contingency would not only complicate the already convoluted Syrian conflict, but also spread the Syrian civil war to Turkey, and even Iraq, where the PKK established a strong presence in the strategic Sinjar province.

In addition, if Turkey ends up in open conflict with the YPG in Syria, the United States, with its direct support for YPG in its fight against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIL), will find itself stuck between a rock and a hard place. In the best-case scenario, already fragile relations between Turkey and the-United States will deteriorate to a point where Turkey’s NATO membership will be questioned either by Ankara or Washington (most likely both). In the worst-case scenario, the Syrian civil war will witness U.S. and Turkish forces, intentionally or unintentionally, targeting each other’s military assets, including personnel, with casualties mounting on each side.

Warontherocks is garbage. You can look at all their failed predictions of the Syrian war if you want a laugh.

There is no such thing as "retaliating Terrorist attack" in literature. There is just no such thing.

The problem is that they are talking only. Get in front of the medias and say "If they attack us again we will enter and put an end to this" and wait them to attack. If they dont attack we know Hakan Fidan have some options there. Send 2 man fire 4 rockets on empty area close to some border base, fire on the rebel positions an say there were 40 injured and finish it. Its not so difficult if you want to do it. There are 2 options we enter and finish it and we enter and finish it there is not third option. But the problem is they still dont want to finish it.

Turkey and Russia want to start an operation in Afrin, maybe in September, Ali Özkök a RT Journalist said on tweeter.

Ali Özkök is not a source. He is always bullshitting. Sometimes when his bullshits exposed, he just deletes old tweets. Last time he said that "PKK shoot down Turkish Helicopter", but when it turned out BS, he just deleted the tweet.

By the way today there was a lot of UAV and spy plane traffic over Syria, Turkey and Iraq. There was one UAV on 18.000ft altitude with call sign TCS4 over Idlib area. There was one with no call sign on 22.000ft over Hatay and one spy plane with call sign RAMPNT12 that took off from Erbil and was circling over Tal Afar for over 4 hours on 20.000ft.

I don't know if he is a reliable source or not, but every journalist can be wrong.
