Turkish Oil & Gas Exploration Update & Discussion

Domestic producing 50k. TPAO internationally operating company so TPAO produces plus 100k out of Türkiye.
IMO, only the oil from our own Vatan counts, also considering price on barrel, we need to at least do more than break even on the cost. 100k a day would be good.

Drilling is planned subject to drilling cost and quality of pil.

İn Saudi Arabia reaching oil is very easy and quality of oil is high so they dont care about expenses. Some Countries like Russia have bad quality oil or hard deep resources thus they have to wait until oil prices have been risen.

Putin must be really regretting decreasing tomato imports from Turkey right now...
I watched one of many YouTube video on our economy, and one of them pointed out that we weren’t exporting tomato to EU, because of limitation, so Russia was the only customer we had to them. IMO we need to process what we don’t eat and export it that way, they last longer processed.

The issue is that we have take or leave it contracts with Russia. The agreed volumes in the contracts have to be paid, whether we take it or not. The price is compared to the low prices on the spot market ridiculously high.

Private companies have made the take or leave deals with Russia, but the Turkish government will have to pay if those companies go bankrupt as per agreement.

A string of Turkish companies have accumulated debt of about $2 billion to Russian state energy giant PAO Gazprom, according to people familiar with the matter, liability that could hinder Ankara’s drive to reduce its reliance on Russian natural gas, in part by boosting imports from the U.S.

Seven private Turkish companies, which have committed to buying large annual amounts of gas from Gazprom under long-term “take-or-pay” contracts, purchased less than 15% of agreed volumes last year, and failed to meet payment obligations stemming from uncollected quantities, the people familiar with the matter said.

CONTRACT TERMS
Turkish private companies that have deals with Gazprom to import 10 bcm a year have imported only 600 million cubic meters in the first six months, the source said, blaming high prices.

Another industry source said buyers were typically required to take 80% to 85% of the contracted amount or pay a fee.

So yes, right now Russian expensive gas is replaced but eventually that expensive gas has to be bought or well the price has to be paid anyway. Those contracts are the most stupid thing ever and will run for another couple of years.

It makes me sick to think that AKP made such deals. God knows what other retarted deals they've made.
