Turkish Naval Programs

AYOCOL 2014

A Colloquium is held in name of A. Yücel Odabaşı , who is well known to be father of Milgem.

Preamble
As a tribute to the late Professor A. Yücel Odabaşı’s (1945-2009) life-long endeavours in promoting the science of Naval Architecture and in particular Naval Hydrodynamics, his colleagues have organized various meetings since his passing. From 2014, these activities are to become a regular international colloqium aiming to focus on a different theme on each occasion, gathering specialists from around the world. We hope that, while commemorating Prof. Odabaşı, this colloquium series will offer a fruitful platform for domestic and international specialists together with a key-note lecturer on a thematic subject.

This topics are really advanced ones in naval architecture , also promising for future. Hosting such an event will also give a boost in our abilities, and sharing information on this matters ,participants were worldwide and mostly high rank academicians who held presentations and shared their comments on each other's studies.

Some pictures from proceeding of a turkish team , done a DARPA suboff model, with a submarine propeller (E1619 ) seemed really interesting for me and also worths to be shared. The topic was to determine underwater acoustics of a submarine.

Complete of proceedings also accessible in the website.

Bro. why our guys share these kind of R&Ds with foreigners ?..

Or did i understand the issue wrong ?..

.
milgemlleri askeri tersaneden almak lazım diğer projelere hız versinler özel tersaneler arası iş payı oluşturulsun üretsinler 10 yıla tüm gemileri çok aksıyor sistemler millileşiyor ama şuanki gemilerde hurdaya ayrılacaklar yani tüm milgemleri tamamlamak lazım gabyalar ve yavuzlar artık çok eskidi yakında barbaroslarda öyle olacak

Bro. why our guys share these kind of R&Ds with foreigners ?..

Or did i understand the issue wrong ?..

Actually foreigners share their knowledge with us, our guys just had some analysis done a submarine model of Darpa and Insean propeller ,and applied their own way to do and they share to gain feedback,

Its not our indigeneous submarine model,if it was it wont be shared in conference, what our guys did only was a trial of noise prediction in submarine, and they aimed to get feedbacks to improve their analysis, and verify it . usually these topics covered within general knowledge then applied on defence products as indigenously developed. when we develop our own submarine they will apply what they experienced on indigenous project . The matter is to hide noise chracteristics of submarine, not to hide how you analyse it.

When we look at proceedings, majority was foreigners so it means they actually contribute to us . In academic level the things isnt like " we shouldnt share how we did ",but it is about hide the secret projects . They all share knowledge to improve generally, and they will also use the improved knowledge on their own defence project .

They only did research, not development of submarine hull form and propeller geometry ,even i can say those datas given by foreigners . When it is R&D then it is not something to be shared in conference ,literally.

Turkish-German Submarine Deal Faces Setbacks | Defense News | defensenews.com

Another procurement official said “a set of setbacks” has delayed the program but did not elaborate, other than citing “technical reasons.” “I do not think the program can meet the original timetable,” he said.

A spokesman for HDW was unavailable for comment as of press time.

Production was to start in 2011, and the first sub delivered in 2015.

There has been speculation in Ankara that the Turkish government was unable to cancel the contract due to delays or impose sanctions on the German shipyard because it felt threatened by years of German eavesdropping on Turkey’s top officials.

Peh... While landing we may need so much firepower... MUHAFIZ would be better with 30 mm... Isn't it ?..

The video is from a Ç-151 class LCT of TNF. It is built by ADİK Shipyards. Sometimes we refer to that ship as Adik class. It uses the 25mm Aselsan STOP

Landing zones by its geography are not much useful for defense. At a Amfibi Harekat Bölgesi (Amphibious Operation Area); the location is generally not militarized and even if so; the highest threat would be pillboxes.

Because during a landing the objective of the defender is to eliminate as much as marines possible during the amphibious landing. So their armaments are mainly anti-personnel. Before the landing operation; it is mandatory that the area shall be eligible for amphibious operation which means that all combatant targets shall be eliminated by naval platforms and aircraft before the op.

The aim if putting two 25 STOPs at front is to provide sufficient firepower to naval infantry to make them reach to their location, providing AAW capability to the ship in case the enemy has attack helicopters to intervene the landing..etc. There's been only one objective for an amphibious assault for centuries. Land as much as force you can at the location chosen.
