Turkish Naval Programs

.
Guys all I’m saying is be cautious in terms of using F35B and LHD, people will just read and laugh

Again turkey is doing a great job in naval building as a matter of fact I think already they have best capability in Eastern Mediterranean, by 2020 and beyond they will be chasing central country’s parring Italy and Spain on western side overall the strategy is changing

BUT someone posts a cut out of a LHD at a defence exhibition and people are clapping jumping up and down like kids calling this thing a aircraft carrier even before its launched for goodness sake restrain yourselves

The F35B is a 5th generation aircraft and a ultra modern one at that, very sophisticated can perform SEAD missions act as a AWACS not to mention its sensor and software suites, you will need a 20ft container full of equipment just to communicate with the aircraft from a ship at sea and most likely the island would need a whole new extra floor and level to accommodate the command and control centre for fixed wing aircraft, I don’t see that ?? Where is the spares storage, fuel, weapons, the hanger needs fire lines open, spaces for manoeuvre, “wiggle space “ , landing aids , take off equipment, you cannot load this thing with everything and kitchen sink and start sailing into war

There is no trainer version IOC is reached after years of training on simulators and land based facility

You ARE NOT going to launch this in 2020 have a polit fly a F35B and start doing “carrier oops “ like it’s depicted in some of those cut aways while simultaneously doing amphibious operations

You will end up with no amphibious capacity and no fixed wing, very quickly it will become a logistical nightmare

Damn, you are right.
What's more? I don't see an engine. So the ship can't move.
.
To answer some of your questions, please check out how Juan Carlos is already carrying harriers with no space for manoeuvre, "wiggle space" etc.

There is nothing in common between harrier and F35B, only that they are VTOL

The UK built the harrier they are pioneers in naval aviation, used it for decades that accounts to nothing when you start talking about F35B

Completely different aircraft, now you are playing a different game and you can’t compare the two

You do realise harrier was designed in 1960s and UK integrated American sidewinder missiles during their trip to falklands and then used them in combat , that thing landed on a container ship

This is no longer 1982 it’s 2018 and warefare has changed to 5th generation

Anyway I think I’ve reached the end of this particular discussion enough said on the subject

Oh you are right again, I am so sorry. I forgot that Harriers dont need "spares storage, fuel, weapons, the hanger needs fire lines open, spaces for manoeuvre, “wiggle space “ , landing aids , take off equipment".
Hence your question, "Where is the spares storage, fuel, weapons, the hanger needs fire lines open, spaces for manoeuvre, “wiggle space “ , landing aids , take off equipment"

Does anyone even understand what he critisizes? He writes alot of things but says a big nothing

.
He started with "fixed wing and rotary wing aircrafts cant operate on this platform together", ended up with "F-35 can't operate on this platform". Called people with names when they say otherwise. While, both of his claims are false.

.
Excuse me who did I call names ?

I am willing to be convinced yet no one has come forward with a counter argument

All I get is hot air and “oh Turkish officers know better “ I’m sorry but that’s not good enough and rather children and immature

I understand national pride is at stake but attests try and be realistic

Realisticly, there wont be any F-35's on the TCG Anadolu, only helicopters.
But that doesnt explain the planned acquisition of the F-35B's(16 probably).

that is exactly the point I was making to whoever it was who started off by saying TCG Anadolu would be lifting F35B

my 3 points

1- it’s not easy to mix and match fixed and rotary on this platform

2- what evidence have we got to say it will carry F35B, is it a enlarged version of Canberra class, is there evidence of a larger island housing a floor for command and control for fixed wing and whole list of other things

And 3- if they are going for F35B it will be a VERY long time before they start flying off a LHD certainly not first unit anyway

So to repeat what I said right in my very first post the 1st LHD will most likely be rotary the 2nd optimismed for fixed wing by which time it will be post 2025 and F35B training is underway
