First he got S-400s. Then he asked for F-35s again and was told no. Then he said "we'll buy Su-35 and submarines from Russia". He went to Russia and got nothing. We already have been enjoying doing that for awhile and will keep doing so---and today we have close to 40 + 4.5 gen aesa equipped fighter aircraft that can compete and beat our opponents Rafales any time of the day or night.

What does your country have to fight with today---against enemy's 4.5 gen aircraft? Nothing---nada---zilch---no aesa equipped fighter aircraft.

The problem with Turkiye is that it found itself at the periphery of a great war not ready even though they tried very hard to get ready---but due to things out of their control---they got caught short of a 5th gen aircraft---.

They went for the S400 rather than the F-35---. The advice given to them about the S400 was very very bad---.

To me---it looked like an INTERNAL SABOTAGE of weakening Turkiye's defences and offesive power---.

Why would a sane mind go for an S400 rather than the F-35's---. That was purely a bad bad deceptive advise to Turkiye---.

As primarily a single engine fighter aircraft operator---taking out the Phantoms from the list---Turkiye should have asked PAF about their experience of trying to assess / purchase the SU-35 in the past and why they picked on the J-10C's for now---.

I believe that Turkiye got suckered into the S400 deal---it got trapped into something that was never the best option---.

We could not integrate the s400s into the central network. We have a network-centric warfare doctrine that we have been building for years. We need to change all the software for Chinese and Russian planes. Not only this, all our domestic missiles need to be integrated. new infrastructure facilities... it is not worth it for Russian and Chinese planes.

All we have to do is to mend our relations with the USA and supply F110 and F404 engines.

We probably won't be able to buy Eurofighter and F16V.

As for my assessment---Turkiye has found itself to be in a terrible situation---but I also realize that Turkiye also has a solution in place as well---otherwise Erdogan would not have spoken about the options that he may have---.

The excuse is that AESA equipped machine & the ew package puts you at a totally different level of combat ( ie the JF17 BLK3 is getting some serious concerns from powers to be ).

Turkiye got tricked into getting the S400---or it tricked itslef into beliving that it was worth more than the F-35's. It was to SABOTAGE the F-35 sale---.

If you recall correctly---years ago---many a specialists had lambasted the F-35 for being inept at its job ( they all got the shut up call ) & Turkiye somehow got entrapped into that belief that the S400 procurment was more important than the F-35 procurement---.
