From what I remember ITU lacked funding so TAI took over the project as part of their light helicopter project..

Actually the project was abducted by SSM, the lack of funding has emerged strangely after the project has been shown in the media. Eventually, SSM has considered project as a base knowledge for ongoing helicopter projects and transferred the design outcomes to the companies, like TAI and maybe others who might be interested.
