How is it different that Turkey supports FSA with how senior and junior Assad supports/supported PKK? Let me carve things out for you.
Assad is an illegitimate dictator who misrepresents and slaughters his own population (300.000 civillians gassed, bombed..). If this was not true, you wouldn't see 80% of Syria fighting against his regime or fleeing the country. Let me also remind to our expert that even though Syria is 80% sunni Arab, Assad backed by Shia Iran holds dominion over that country. Are we suffering collective amnesia? It was barely 3 years ago or so, when the whole world witnessed the gassing and slaughtering of Syrian civillians, which continues to this day. Look at the Syrian map and the different groupings and the fightings between those groups. 95% of fights occur between FSA/Turkmens and YPG/Assad/Russia/Iran. Once in a while Russian planes drop a symbolic bomb nowhere in "ISIS" locations. So does NATO counties as well. Where is ISIS located in Syria? In eastern desolate wasteland deserts. Russia's main concern is and has always been Turkmen villages and FSA strongholds. You don't have to be an "expert" to see this

Also try for once and compare the total civillian casualties by ISIS and Assad/Russia. The amount of civillian deaths at the hand of ISIS is not a bucket of water in an ocean that is Assad.
The real threat has never been ISIS. ISIS is a symptom of the grave injustices of despotic rule by Assad. ISIS filled the power vacuum in Iraq following USA's destruction of that country. No legitimate government or leadership --> sunni Arabs completely undermined by Iranian backed Baghdad government--> they resolved to ISIS.
Russia and Iran are merely using ISIS as a pretext to cover their dirty actions in Syria. They don't go after ISIS, LOL, they go after Turkmens and FSA, because they are perfectly aware of the fact that when Assad falls, if a Sunni Arab leadership supported and backed by KSA, other Arab countries and Turkey, they will lose dominion and influence in Syria.
