Turkish army’s drill on Iraqi border [PHOTO]

Turkey-Iraq cooperation for this further north is important to give the US the message that they cannot easily decide to abandon either. US cannot lose both Turkey and Iraq, important airspace/land control.

If we close Incirlik. They have to depend on Greece, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait and Cyprus loacated bases.
No other choice. People of these countries will protest for sure and shake the Governments.

They have substitutes, even in Iraq (Al-Asad airbase, Qayyarah airbase). This is why it's important that we are on one page, and not against each other when it comes to the Kurdish issue. As to avoid enabling the US their game.

There's news of a soon to be launched operation for Nineveh plains, this includes the area where Turkish base is located, Bashiqa. PMU build up there but no army or ISOF build up

I don't think this will happen tonight, PMU will wait for the army. And this includes Sinjar so we will notice a larger build up of Turkish military before this kicks off as Syrian based YPG will likely react to it given their presence in Sinjar.

When ISF took Hawija many ISIS fled to the Peshmerga, Peshmerga captured them. After ISF took Kirkuk some are now saying that Peshmerga released those ISIS and armed them to fight Iraqi forces. More I don't know.

I don't believe Kirkuk is safe, ISF have to expand dozens of kilometers beyond Kirkuk to create some distance between Pesh and the city.

Iraqi security forces are in full control of Rabia border.

If Iraqi forces wont stop i think they will be capture all North Iraq :D what cowards peshmerges, they captured many regions without clashes, vay amk
I smell a deal between the Iraqi government, peshmerga and the US. In order to not escalate the situation and to "focus on the fight against DEASH" I think the US ordered peshmerga to go back to the territories they controlled before DEASH came. I am wondering what PKK and its wings will do about it.

Unlikely they'd obey the US on that, Barzani kept refusing US pressure to stop the referendum.

There's trouble and disagreement between PUK and KDP peshmerga. I wouldn't say a deal but their leadership disagreed with one another on Iraqi forces approaching Kirkuk, some of PUK were with the Iraqi gov whilst the PUK governor was against us like the KDP. After the loss of Kirkuk it seems their morale has gone, now they have no will to stop the ISF.

Although to add to that, you're right a deal was reached for Diyala province with PUK after the fall of Kirkuk. But unlikely any deal with KDP, knowing how stubborn massoud is.

Either way all this aside, now that Iraqi troops are in Bashiqa they should meet with the Turkish troops in Bashiqa base. Pave the way to the border crossing with Turkey so that trade/economic deals can be made, there's a lot of rebuilding and imports that will come so a good economic opportunity for you.

Question now is, will Turkey - Iraq mend ties? As the new proxies more are pro Iraq & Iran, if not what will happen. @ the Turkish members and thecamelguy

Depends on Turkish foreign policy, Baghdad has no problem with Turkey, the only problem was Turkey favored working with Barzani and Nujaifi brothers.

The former Kirkuk governor was building his statue in secret, it wasn't finished and not yet public. KRG is still in the dictator era

Black line shows ISF progress, white line shows pre-2014 borders. It's not done yet
