What about the border gate with Turkey?Depends on Turkish foreign policy, Baghdad has no problem with Turkey, the only problem was Turkey favored working with Barzani and Nujaifi brothers.
The former Kirkuk governor was building his statue in secret, it wasn't finished and not yet public. KRG is still in the dictator era
Black line shows ISF progress, white line shows pre-2014 borders. It's not done yet
What about the border gate with Turkey?
Iraq should capture that or a joint operation so there can be trade. Does Iraq Turkey have any other border that bypasses KRG?
I agree, we should come to such a position once and for all so they can't blackmail us or stop anything. Border gate is the most important, but I don't know what erdoğan is thinking because he can be change in 1 day.There's no border that bypasses KRG, but really what is stopping us from paving that border to Ibrahim Khalil/Habur? It passes through 3 kilometers of KRG land, make it a joint Turkey-ISF operation and the US won't say anything. As long as ISF leaves Arbil and Suleymaniyah alone the US is unlikely to intervene.
Sinjar is already lost to KRG, ISF controls both main highway roads in Sinjar district, the city of Sinjar and the border region.

With respect;
when Baghdad was effectively being ruled by the Kurds - (Jalal Talabani was president) - and Turkey was having problems with PKK infiltration through the porous Turkey-Iraq border, the central Government were not very sympathetic. They effectively pushed the Turks to work with the regional governments and to recognise their authority there.
I was thinking the same. If ISF captues that border gate, it would mean completely isolating KRG, cutting their link with YPG and route for Iraq-Turkey trade.
Also, such a move would cut KRG's oil exports and Iraq can use it for exporting Kirkuk oil.
IMO, it would be the second most important objective after retaking Kirkuk.
1-) Let's not forget that PKK operated (still operating) in the KRG area. Peshmergas did nothing to stop them. They even allow PKK bases in their areas.With respect;

Wonder why no move from ISF and TSK to crush PKK in Sinjar.Sinjar is already lost to KRG, ISF controls both main highway roads
Sinjar has been already taken by the Iraqi ArmyWonder why no move from ISF and TSK to crush PKK in Sinjar.
I wanna see leshes or captured PKK terrorists. Thats my point.Sinjar has been already taken by the Iraqi Army
That profile picture man [/QUOTE]I don't get it though, there's no deal with Barani, what happened in Kirkuk was hostile and Iraq benefitted from Kurdish internal disagreement. But there is only KDP and PKK in Nineveh region, is this the morale loss of the peshmerga?
