Turkish Portable Early Warning Radar System (TEIRS)
EIRS Project has 2 configurations: Portable EIRS (TEIRS) and Fixed EIRS (SEIRS). In the first phase, four Portable Early Warning Radar Systems (TEIRS) will be procured.
ERALP GaN based AESA Radar
TEIRS is a new generation S-Band radar developed for long-range early warning purposes, with antenna architecture in AESA and digital beamforming infrastructure. In addition to air-breathing air targets, EIRS also has long-range detection and tracking capability of ballistic missiles and targets with stealth technology/low RKA. EIRS, AESA and digital beamforming architecture and multi-channel receiver structure has the ability to create more than one beam at the same time.
EIRS has the feature of using meteorological data in order to increase detection and tracking performance. The radar, communication/command control and power subsystems that make up the EIRS are carried on tactical vehicles. For this reason, EIRS, which has high mobility, does not need any disassembly and assembly for installation and assembly. By connecting to existing radar networks, EIRS can share messages in AWCIES format, 3D aerial pictures with other systems and Control Reporting Centers over radio or radio links.
The EIRS has the capability of data fusion with other EIRS and transmitting trace information for target handover, which is especially critical for ballistic missile defense. To support the operational modes of the radar, the long-range Mode 5 IFF interrogator is integrated with a high-gain IFF antenna. EIRS's AESA architecture and modular design approach support the concepts of low-cost maintenance and high availability. EIRS has electronic protection features such as mobility in frequency and time in the wide frequency band, side beam dimming, low side beam levels.

Turkey did omprehensive testing of all S-400 radar systems, comprising the 91N6E Big Bird (1x), 92N6E Grove Stone (2x) and 96L6E Cheese Board (2x) Radars of the S-400 System that departed from Akıncı Air Base is expected to be conducted. Within the scope of comprehensive firing test campaign Banshee Target Drones simulating low speed air breath threats and undisclosed number of TUSAŞ ŞİMŞEK High Speed Target Drones simulating high speed air breath threats will be utilized during tracking practices and live firing tests. The Learnings have been used in SIPER & ERALP.
The maximum range of the ERALP radar that will broadcast on the S Band frequency is 460+ kilometers.
