I agree. We need more Turkic people from different countries and states each.

Also i just love how the Grey Wolf is universally seen as a Turkic mythical symbol, love it!

as to your question, in almost 20 years of internet and 10-12 years of various forum membership period, i've never encountered Turkic people on english language military or politics/strategy related forums.

P.S. i just remembered. i actually did encounter a guy from Kazakhstan on mp.net, but he was posting once in 3 months.

Bro you would know better than me, where are they ? I even googled "Kazakh forum, Kyrgyz forum" but couldn't found anything. Is it just they are not very fond of internet...or they don't know English and use Russian instead ???

That is EPIC!

This is the part of our culture and identity we ought to embrace more, atleast for the ethnically Turkic people. We have way to much Ottoman Mehter Marches and little to none of these.

they really don't have interest in military or geopolitics related topics. and language is also the barrier. forum users from turkic countries are more interested in history. for that, they generally use russian or their respective forums.

though a little overrated, mehter is your history. ottomans being more of a "regular army", steppe horse tradition and culture died out in anatolia.

Diversity within ones culture is far more imporant to me then some marches. I am not neccesarely looking down on it, its just that we let steppe traditions and culture die out. The Ottoman/Seljuk Empire is an important part of our history, but we have a big history before that.

I mean here in the Netherlands you will see a Mehter march on nearly all Turkish weddings these days, why not spice it up a little bit you know?

it's evolution. everything non-vital dies out. we preserved this culture because we were nomads up until 1940ies. my grandpa was forcibly settled in 1934. in ottoman empire you chose settled life and thus things nomad were forgotten. it's multi-faceted problem including religion, economics and governorship.

how? play kız kuumay? it's our game where you chase horse riding girls and kiss them if you can catch them :D

Sigh yeah sadly evolution plays its part. In Turkey we still have nomadic folks such as the Turkmens/Yoruks and Gypsies who still have preserve their culture to some degree, sadly most of them dont even ride horses anymore. Thats just depressing...

Oh you are shitting me right? OMFG WHY DONT WE HAVE THIS! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT...

We still have horses(my family in Turkiye)?
We used to go hunting for keklik(dont know the other name),but a long long time ago.

.
My ancestors also stopped being nomads a long time ago.
What we always need to consider is that the steppe culture is the "origin" culture but the culture we have in all individual Turkic countries or regions are our todays real culture.
For example we Ahiska always remember that we came from the steppe (the Ozan/Asik tradition in Turkey mainly comes from us) but we still view the elements like the Lezginka as part of our real culture since we have over a thousand years nothing to do with that culture anymore.

it's not only about owning horse. for example, we have like 15 colors for horses (where you see brown, we'll see completely different color) and every age of a horse has a name :) while you play football every week, we play kökbörü etc.

''kökbörü'' is that the one where they use a dead sheep as a ball, two teams on horses?
