What's new

Turkic World Photos/News/Discussions.

Turkish Cinema and Central Asian Turkic cinema need to work together and bring us films based on the Gokturks, Seljuks, Uygurs, Karakanids, Ghaznavids, White Huns, Mamluks and Babur Empire .

The whole world needs to know about Turks and Turkic history.

Forget bullshit love or fictional crap stories I want Baybars on the big screen or as a Tv show. How about Ataturks military exploits in Libya. Everybody knows about his role in Cannakale and the Independance war but barely anybody knows about his role in Libya.

I also want a film based on Osman Batur.

good idea I also have thought about this many times..

kazakh cinema made good big steps they have more rational and cooler films then our turkish cinema.. turikish cinema needs to learn from them and keep out the anatolian turkish shaban mentality only than it could be good..
(for local market shaban mentality is good and entertaining)

there should be also timur included.. the turkish ottoman wars could be made films.. the war against the sovjets and enver pashas dead could be made a film there is so many potentional things to do.. in turkish cinema there is so much potential film you cam make films about many ottoman kings, pashas, wars, also the arab betrayal of ottoman could be made a film :)

the band altai kai should be included in many of the films they have good music for this

this can be a bridge between turkic nation and bring them more together at least they learn about each other

They wont do it because Turkish cinema has always been about trash love stories nothing else.

When they have even done a proper film about Ataturk not just Ataturk but many wars and battles along with historical figures like Alparslan, Timur, Berke Han, Baybars, Sakalli Nurettin Pasha and many more?

Not just rulers and generals I also want films based on bilim adamlari like Ulu Beg and Al Jazari.

All this history we cant even make a proper film it feels embarassing. Even Cuneyt Arkins films that had history as much as they were goofy were much better than todays crap especially Turkish sitcoms.

Payithat and Ertugral might be good shows but they dont do enough justice not to mention they are not fully historically accurate as much as they claim to be. 1453 as a movie was entertaining but it was awful really when you look more into it.

I'm hoping Gokturk is going to be a good trilogy. Hope it isn't going to be rushed. It has the potential to be like Lord of the Rings.

I hope so I dont mind films based on the Pre Islamic history of the Turks. Afterall it is also our history.

Arabs and the Persians take pride in their Pre Islamic history by all right we have the right to be proud of ours too.

Whats with car manufacturers naming certain cars with Turkic names like Taycan, Qashqai and Touran.

Pretty interesting really to be honest.

The fate of the Aral Sea is one of the most dramatic examples of what over exploitation and mismanagement can do to natural resources. Located in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the sea has dried up and its fish stocks and the communities that depended on them have collapsed. Sena Saylan visited one community that's trying to find another way to survive.

As the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, I announce with much pride and pleasure that the ratification of the Nakhchivan Agreement, which founded the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in 2009, has been completed by the Republic of Uzbekistan on 14 September 2019.

With this, the Republic of Uzbekistan will become a full member of the Turkic Council. This historic decision coincides with the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement and the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council to be convened on 15 October 2019 in Baku will welcome the brotherly Uzbekistan represented by H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with great honour.

On this historic occasion, I welcome the joining of brotherly Uzbekistan in the Turkic Council family and I believe that this remarkable development will add significant momentum to the activities of the Turkic Council and ever-increasing cooperation among the Turkic Speaking Countries and peoples.

Uzbekistan has always been one of the central factors of the Turkic world, as well as the economic and cultural cradle of Turco-Islamic history with its glorious cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva located along the Great Silk Way. It has also been a source of huge contribution to the world civilization with its rich national and historical heritage. Today, Uzbekistan, as a “geographical pivot”, offers a new chapter of development not only for its brotherly countries but also for the entire region with its rising opportunities.

Taking this opportunity, while sharing my heartfelt happiness on this historic event, I would like to extend my deepest regard to H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for his astute leadership. I am confident that the relations between Uzbekistan and the other Turkic Speaking Countries, which is based upon centuries-old strong brotherly roots, will gain further dimensions and bright prospects under the uniting flag of the Turkic Council.

Baghdad Amreyev
Secretary General of the Turkic Council

The Islamic Army of the Caucasus under the command of Nuri Paşa had managed to save the Turks in Bakü from attacks of Russian-Armed Armenians thugs who massacred 15.000 civilians in two days.

With respect to those brave soldiers and 1130 martyres...

The short story of The Islamic Army of the Caucasus:

Hafız Abdurrahmanoğlu, the son of One of those brave soliders, tells the heroism of The Islamic Army of the Caucasus.
