I think they had help from British and Koreans on the project. They are trying to unseat German engine dominance supposedly.

And good luck to Turkey with that - looking forward to see it succeed. I wonder if this powerpack could ever be used to power a future Al-Khalid variant.

Yes, if it meets military standards and passes the tests. The BATU Power Pack will be used instead of the German Power Pack.

If we can achieve this, there will be no other example in the World and in the NATO. Even the USA has turned to the German Power Pack. Likewise, the UK will start using the German Power Pack.

So why are we trying so hard? Because Germany imposes conditions that we cannot accept. And we are tired of this long-standing situation. That 's enough!
