Turkey's Biggest National Security Threat Is Its Economy

Türk ekonomisi yıllık 11-12% ile büyüyordu ,

When are you guys gonna stop inventing fairy tale numbers?

Dolar 1,8 den 2,4 e yukseldi ,,, Devletin borclanma faizi 2,9% a düşecekken 11% in üzerine cıktı ..

I don’t know from where you copy pasted that but let me correct you on some things as I see @xenon54 already busted the myth abouth the 12% a year economic growth:

In the beginning of May 2013 1$ was worth 1,80TL. After the infamous Gezi Protests the US Dollar rose to 1,87 TL in the end of May. Damn what a collapse huh? :D

The Turkish Lira didn’t even reach the 2,40 mark for a Dollar until the beginning of 2015... when the whole region was in a complete mess due to Syria, Iraq, ISIS and etc. At that time most of our trading partners in the Ex Soviet Union and the Middle East were in recession due to the low oil prices, Turkey was just starting to seriously flood with refugees who were eating up billions of dollars and bombs started going of all around the country on a weekly basis. Then the crysis with Russia over the downed plane started.

Still 2.50 and even 3 Liras for a Dollar look much better than 4 don’t they?

https://www.poundsterlinglive.com/b...rical-spot-exchange-rates/usd/USD-to-TRY-2015

The yield on government debt bonds have never been bellow 6% and was around 7-8 until somewhere in 2015. Now it is around 12%- that is the interest Turkey has to pay to all people who brought it’s state debt. Higher percentages mean the country is more risky and less stable. Those numbers are formed on the world markets according to the performance of the country.

As for the basic interest rates of the Central Bank I am not really sure but believe me that with all the interventions of the government in it’s work they helped a lot to the Lira to go down the shitter.
Printing more and more money and making loans to the public easier only trying to pump up the economic growth when the economy is going bad resulted in widening the current account deficit and increasing the inflation.

Having a terrorist attack every week, being in a war on terror in Turkey and around it, having a coup attempt and purges of hundreds of thousands afterwards lead to scaring away the tourists from Turkey which resulted in tens of billions in losses. Feeding millions of refugees who contribute nothing leads to tens of billions in losses. Scaring away the foreign investors lead to losing billions in foreign direct investments. Investors won’t come to a country that is in a constant state of chaos where their investments are not protected by working laws and a stable country behind them.

All Turkey needs right now is some time in peace and stability and gaining the trust of the foreign tourists, investors and trade partners back. For that Erdo needs to shut up at least for once and just work. Short term pain for a long term gain. Turkey can still follow it’s interests without Erdo getting into fights with half of the world every week.

ps Berkant, just read a book or two on economics. Try to inform yourself from places that are not served to you by the people who try to brainwash you.
Look around the world and open your mind... try to have some critical thinking instead of believing that everything bad around us is a world conspiracy against Turkey and AKP. Of course that the PKK and FETO are used against Turkey, that’s how the game of world politics is played by every country but try to see the mistakes of AKP too because in the end all Turks will be f*cked together no matter who they voted for.

Actually the economic growth speed of Turkey is not so much different than the average of EU.
GDP Per capita is still too low comparing even to old soviet country Poland.

You read a book or two on economics...... and try to see the betrayal of CHP
do you know what about Interest Rate ? a record low of 4.6% in May of 2013

but after the Gezi Park protests the Interest Rate has risen to 8,6 % from 4,6%

Gezi Park rebellion between 28 may 2013 and 20-29 august 2013 ,
1 USD has risen to 2.00 tl from 1.84 tl between 27 may 2013 and 26 august 2013

and Judicial and Police coup attempt by FETO 17-25 December 2013 , and Pkk rebellion in 22 towns in august 2015

31.12.2011 1 USD was worth $1.88 tl
27.05.2013 1 USD was worth $1.84 tl ... ( Gezi Parkı isyanı öncesi )
26.08.2013 1 USD was worth $2 tl ..... ( Gezi Parkı isyanı sonrası )

31.12. 2014 1 USD was worth $2,3 tl
31.12. 2015 1 USD was worth $2,9 tl

Currency has nothing to do with Gezi meeting. Our trade is not balanced, our nation comsumes more than she produces, therefor total foreign currency that circles in our economy decreases by time, and that means demand/supply rate increases, which makes your currency less valuable.

Want to fix that? Produce more, equalize export/import.

I personally support the devaluation until we start produce things ourselves. Devaluation forces people to spend less (yes, it's called inflation o_O ). At least we will not see iphones all around anymore  Our nation deserves huge poverty until she starts producing things itself.

Turkey didn't even reached the $2 trillion !!!
You think 2 trillion is easy? There is probably 6-7 2 trillion economies. India with a huge landmass and population recently reached 2 trillion.

We should have been at least 1.5 trillion by now though, if only Erdoğan leaves the central Bank alone and don't sabotage the economy.

Then throw this Loser out what are you waiting for ?

We are better than Somalia+Congo+Iraq+Syria... Should it make us happy?

in 2003 10x Turkey = Germany
in 2018 4x Turkey = Germany

in 2003 Turkey had $230 bil of GDP ... as like Austria ( before ERDOGAN ) Austria = Turkey
but 2018 Turkey has $905 bil .. Austria has $442 bil ( after ERDOGAN ) 2x Austria = Turkey

even Turkey is under attack since 2013 ,, Turkish economy lost over $500 bil since 2013
but nobody attacks Austria

We are better than S.Arabia+Qatar combined .....even Turkey has no oil and gas reserves
We are better than Egypt+Israel+Greece
