Turkey's Altay MBT project hit by engine technology transfer issues

Cummins Engines together with BMC Turkey could do the job.
Hurşid, correct if i'm wrong but BMC doesn't have any experience or infrastructure to produce Engines like since 80s. They are are buying motors from Cummins that's it.

. . . .
Altay tank engine develoing project aborted with TUMOSAN

Not even surprized. Really did the project ever even took off? For the past couple years we have been trying to foreign cooperation in the project and when that failed the whole thing just stalled. TUMOSAN is obviously still to young/inexperienced of a company to handle such a big project apparently. Sad really, all those years wasted while there are far more obvious and reasonable choices.

.
BMC is ready to produce ALTAY,
Turkey and Qatar ( Turkish military base already established for Qatari defence) could do it.

Engine could be one of reliable Cummins derivative Marine engines,
already capable OBD III and integrated perimetre control.

We dont need Qatari involvement if there are 100% domestic companies capable to do so.
Getting Cummins engines would require US clearance for export, you might as well take MTU than. Same shit. Same problems.

. .
Turkey should prefer USA than Krauts

You're obviously not Austrian. But it just makes no difference, your subjective preference makes no difference.

.
true ?

They had an Austrian company to develop an engine and then present it as some ''national domestic'' bullshit engine. Austria put an embargo on, tumosan turns out not to be able to develop an engine on its own, so now it's cancelled. The first batch will have an MTU engine and is ready for production but erdogan is trying to give the tender to his butt buddy at BMC instead of Otokar.

Whoever do it, let's him do it. Let's the ALtay finally get into manufacturing...

KOC Group says Ready for Production all tests completed. But Turkish Forces want optimization cause the lessons from ES operation.
When would that be and German engine for the first batch?
