I doubt KSA will ever have 300 armed drones in ther inventory, first they should make a factory to assemble all the parts. And educate people to maintain and fly all that drones, so 10 years later maybe they will have 300 drones.

KSA have a very important "Engineer" pool who are still in training abroad. A very small minority of them have just started to come back in the country, their coming back is mostly halted by the limited opportunities that KSA is given right now.
But those opportunities are growing steadily but surely.

They have the "Financial" backpack + The "Mind pool"... The only issue for now, is the "Old type" Ideology still present in KSA society.
They are still waiting for their "Sacrifice"... To Cement the society and get ride of the "Privileges" associated with it.

In the End, they have Huge potential, IF the future gave them the opportunity for a sacrifice...

As for those asking what could be a sacrifice... From a Drastic Ideology Transformation... (Everything inbtw) To a full War...

You mean 25 years, first you should establisih industry to keep it rolling before you send people over the world, and that students are mostly rich kids to run bussines of ther clan. I am afraid winning the iedeology is not the only thing.

Ofc Few decades is needed.
As for "Students", They are actually good ones.

I know some, and they are hard workers and have Very very good grades. The few dozens I encounter in this past 5-6 years, the great majority of them are people who've got a vision, a wish to excel in their department with a great sense of changing KSA past "Stance".

I wouldn't underestimate the "People". But Politically that's another story. They "IMO" What is keeping KSA behind.

According to many source, Ukroboronprom and Bayraktar signed deal to produce Bayraktar TB2 drones in Ukraine. The drones will be manufactured by Antonov.

New long range armed drone concept introduced by Antonov in UMEX-2018 is actually a TAI's HALE drone project but It seems Ukraine and Turkey establish technology exchange projects to meet the requirements.

Ukraine Antonov and Indonesia PTDI chose TAI for their operational and strategic armed UAV systems. I hope these partnerships will be instrument of creating a common perspective in bilateral relations.


While the integration of these two companies (especially Antonov) has strengthened significantly: on the other hand, we see that Vestel Defense has achieved great success in the gulf countries. A serious technology transfer will take place in Saudi Arabia. Bayraktar TB2 tactical armed uav system which is the best in its class, next year it will reach its 4th export success. Signed with the two countries, talks with Azerbaijan will be finalized and the 4th country will be announced soon.

With only current developments, we will see (Tactical and above) Male-Hale armed Uav systems with Turkish core architecture in at least 7-8 countries in 2020s. But we all know that this number will double in 10-15 years.

There are 4 main reasons that why Turkey is so successful in these uav-tech exports:
1- Becasue it's unique security conditions, Turkey realized the new paradigm in the 1990s before many countries.
2- The fact that Turkish Armed Forces and acceptance tests are at world standards, and every system accepted to inventory creates external demand. ( foreign buyings or local produce not important )
3- Turkey has a very clear policy on sharing technology and does not seek to use it as political leverage.
4- While many countries' Uav systems decorate fair stands, Turkish manufacturers offer combat-proven solutions with state-of-art subsystems.
