Trump calls for Muslims to be temporarily denied entry to US

WASHINGTON: Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on Monday called for a "total and complete" block on Muslims entering the United States, in the wake of last week's mass shooting in California by a Muslim couple believed to have been radicalized.

A statement from Trump's campaign team said the halt on Muslims entering the country should remain in place "until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on."

The statement does not specify if the proposal would affect both tourists and immigrants, and also does not say if it would target American Muslims currently abroad.

Trump's campaign cites poll data allegedly showing "hatred toward Americans by large segments of the Muslim population."

"Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine," the billionaire real estate mogul, who is leading in opinion polls among likely Republican voters, said in the statement.

"Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.

Trump has been increasingly virulent in his remarks targeting Muslim Americans since the deadly Paris attacks, and again in the wake of last week's shooting rampage in California, which left 14 dead and 21 wounded.


"Just put out a very important policy statement on the extraordinary influx of hatred & danger coming into our country. We must be vigilant!" Trump tweeted after the statement was released.




His announcement unleashed quick condemnation on Twitter.



"@realdonaldtrump removes all doubt: he is running for President as a fascist demagogue," Democratic presidential contender Martin O'Malley said.

Its good for Muslims, it may help open wealthy Muslims eyes and they bring out their money from US, also it will be difficult to blame Muslims in any terror attack in US.

The US is already pretty much anti-Muslim but not because of what Muslims have done but rather media and carefully crafted political hysteria that feeds on itself. Muslims in the US constitute less than 1% of the population so it makes them a very easy target and vulnerable group ripe for scapegoating. None of these politicians want Americans to focus on the real problems in the US where the middle class is declining rapidly and the best job most of these Americans have to look forward to is Wal-Mart if they're lucky.

So let's hope Trump wins and bans Muslims, monitors them or even starts a second Spanish inquisition. In the end it will benefit Islam worldwide because I think the current dimwitted and sleeping Muslim population will be forced to either wake up and become stronger or go extinct. The strong survive and the weak perish, it's the basic law of nature. If 1.6 billion Muslims can't fix their own problem with terrorism, extremism, and corrupt leadership everywhere and become a stronger more unified people, then maybe it's time to go to extinct.

Good points brother, but believe it or not even if Muslims are completely expelled from West the Muslim states won't change at all. Iranian-Saudi feud in region will continue as it is. Not just Saudi or Iranian but also every other Muslim entity which is fanatical about ethnicity and nationalism. So imagine Western Muslims arriving in the ME and telling the locals there that there is serious crisis and we must solve it. Instead of being listened to, the locals will claim the solution is to expand their ethnic empire whether be Iranian, Turkish or Arabic. And Western Muslims will tell them they're crazy, suddenly don't be surprised if Western born Muslims and local Muslims start killing each other. The Muslim population isn't just asleep its dead. Nothing will change the situation except total collapse/embargo against Muslim nations. Then that power gap needs to be filled by people who will make sure there is no room for nationalist ideas. The Middle East is a mess with so many camps willing to take it very far to assert their power.

I expect the Middle East to collapse totally within 6-8 years. And like you said Muslims won't know where God put them when this happens. If the international community comes to stabilize the situation all the energy will be directed at them. The situation will become pathetic, it's on its way there.
