One life is more important to 100 planes , lets just ground the Mirage and boost the production of Jf-17's to replace them

The mirages may be outdated, but they are still more capable than the F-7s we have and more rugged too. As such the F-7 fleet will generally be the first to go along with the older mirages(of the original order) which are generally based at rafiqui. However, this all depends on the PAF's move of finally having infrastructure in place for maintaining the JF-17 down south. For now the JF-17 forces will remain concentrated up north as the core engineering/maintenance facilities for it are in the area.
The compensation for this has been the raising of 5sq at Jacobabad with the PAF's most capable platform.

Again, the mirages of 7sq are the oldest ROSE mirages out there and eventually do give out on and off. But they are generally more reliable than the F-7s flying.

Inna Lillahe wa inna elaihe Rajeoon. I understand what is being written but all these statements are not qualified. The fact is that flying is a hazardous profession and one comes into it knowing the risks. We need to ascertain what the problem was which led to the crash. If the problem was bird strike or pilot error then to put the blame on the platforms would be unwise. I agree that these platforms are getting on a bit , however the need to replace the fleet has a priority .PAF will follow its plan of replacement based on need which it determines. If the M3/5s are getting on so are the F7s which are a lot less forgiving than the M3s. their is a rate beyond which our finances would not allow us to replace platforms. So much as I regret the loss of an unnecessary life we firstly need to waìt for the official enquiry results and secondly for the economy to improve so that fleet replenishment can move on smoothly.

Age is not an indicator of reliability

The USAF operates a large B52 fleet and will continue to do so until around 2040. The last B52 left the assembly line over 40 years ago.

There needs to be more transparency where such accidents are concerned and the reports openly published.
