Top US general says Taliban 'living in comfort' in Pakistan

Taliban control more than 60% of Afghanistan they don't need to live in Pakistan.

. .
The Afghan Taliban were financed by Pakistan.
They got their weapons from Pakistan.
They got their training in Pakistan.
They manage to overthrow the Mujahedin, with Pakistans help with participation of PA according to some.
The Afghan Mujahedin were financed by USA.
They got their weapons from USA.
They got their training BY CIA/USA.
They manage to overthrow the Afghan Communist PDP government, with America's help with participation of CIA according to more than some.

Now, tell me sunshine [although you don't get much sunshine in Sweden] was America responsible?

America was responsible for making sure that the Afghanis could decide their own fate
without beeing occupied, and once the occupation forces left, the US left the Afghanis
to themselves. The Afghanis went for civil war.

The overthrow of the Communist party is no different than the treatment of
Nazi Collaborators after WW2.

After 9/11 the US engaged with their own troops to defeat an ally to Al Qaeda.
This time they also made an attempt on nation building, trying to create institutions.
Something, which is difficult due to corruption and constant attack
by people that think they are more important than their next of kin.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is trying to assume control over their neighbour through various means.

No. That way I could make a excuse for Pakistan as well. Your slapping the handcuffs on Pakistan and making muppet excuses for US. It's not as simple as saying "Afghanis" decide. No offence why the fcuk don't you let Kosovars decide their own fate instead of having NATO parked there? Or Bosnia.

The fact is USA armed various fighters belonging to hydra headed jihad. After 10 years when the Soviets pulled out the country was armed to the teath and when the PDP government fell the hyda headed jihadis turned against each other. This led to a civil war of epic proportions. To think that US did not have any vicarious responsibility for what happened is to deny the truth.

The reality is Afghanistan should have recieved a massive stabilization force to create stability and order. Then that force should have helped to create a unified government. Then massive economic project to get the economy back on track and rebuild the country should have been initited - read post war Germany, post war Bosnoa, post troubles Kosova. The world owed this to Afghanistan. The epic conclusion of the Cold War had been played out on it's land and humbling of the Red Army.

Non of this was done. Guess what. It all came back to bite the Americans. Maybe they should have put some effort in 1991. A patch in time saves nine later.

Then somehow, it is not Pakistan’s problem.

According to the OP:
  • The US believes the Afghan Taliban top leadership resides in Pakistan.
  • When the US agrees with Pakistan on operations vs these leaders, Pakistan does something else.
It is well known that Pakistanis complain when the US acts alone in Pakistan.
When people help the US target UBL, they are arrested.

and the US has no reasons to complain?

I am now convinced that you suffer from a severe mental syndrome.

.
Which is not what happened.
They were totally unknown, and then suddenly took control over around a third of Afghanistan in a few months.
This isn't a movie, factions don't appear out of nowhere and take over a nation. Even ISIS took years upon years to plan their moves out, and they were already a known faction from the early days of the Iraq war.

The Allies armed the French resistance during WW2, and it did not end up in a civil war.
(if you do not count the OAS uprising 15 years later).

The US initiated the Marshall plan for West Germany after WW2, the Soviets plundered East Germany to the bones, and neither ended up in a civil war.
After Afghanistan was overrun in 2001/2, there was an attempt to do whatever you suggested,
and the result was that aid workers are killed, and any progress in development is destroyed
by the Taliban. The very presence of people from the West is the stated reason for the atrocities,
so it is not as simple.

In the end, it is the citizens of Afganistan that must learn that they need to respect the opinions of other citizens, even if they do not share them. This is sorely lacking.

I am now convinced that you suffer from a severe mental syndrome.
Yes, because you reject even the statement of those in Pakistan which made those decisions.
Please continue to live in denial. Sources given earlier in the thread.

No, they did not appear out of nowhere. They appeared to come out of nowhere.
In practise, they must have been in training inside Pakistani Madrases for quite some time.
People that are old enough, remember how the Taliban swept over Afghanistan as an invincible force, and we now know this was based on the huge arms cache hidden inside Afghanistan by, guess who?

.
Yes they are here, ab ja kar chupo ganay aur jo patna pat lo, bc, tamasha bnaya hua hai, bloody terrorist yankee pigs and thier indian rats.

Pakistan/ISI involved itself heavily in the creation of the Afghan Taliban according to Benazir Bhutto, and she approved the funding neccessary for this.
That makes it Pakistan’s problem.

https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2008/01/02/bhutto_helped_create_taliban_monster.html

That does not mean that Pakistan fully control the Afghan Taliban, but it certainly means
lots for how people worldwide view Pakistan.
The trust in Pakistan’s willingness to do something about it, is limited at best.
Google Operation cyclone:cheesy::cheesy:

I this page (5) of comments quite well explains why the US are unhappy with Pakistan.
Every Pakistani here is eager to declare themselves an enemy of the US.
and all Americans love us so much they drink to toast to Pakistans prosperity before every meal right?

Do you understand the concept of pre-empting threats from hostile nation by creating buffer zone or groups in between so your enemy doesnot get the chance to hit your rear end through proxy wars ? I mean what do you deduce from below pictures ? Mccaine meeting the Syrian terrorists in Syria for what ? To eat shawarma ?

McCain_Syria.jpg

Or US Supporting Terrorist Kurdish Group against their fight for ISIS ?

Oh a golden nugget, This I think is a fake picture of Ronald regan meeting the founding fathers of Taliban

Why do you think Pakistan is trying to assume control over the neighbor ? Just for fun ?
