‘Too upset and angry’: Muslim teen barred from top London school for wearing veil quits

Doesn't matter if she was born and raised in UK. If she feels her rights would be better respected somewhere else, she is free to leave. Plenty people leave UK, mostly in old age, supposedly because of the friendlier weather in southern France. She'll just move for different reasons.
She felt her rights would be respected by TOLERANT, SECULAR and LIBERAL society like UK where she was TAUGHT the meaning of respecting and accepting difference...otherwise dont you think she would have freaked out someone telling her to cover her face like all of you are?

Sure, extremist. I'd say sacrificing education for a piece of cloth is extreme. I'd say trying to shove your way down others for sake of "religious freedom" is extreme. And by this is mean, if she is allowed to keep burqa, it's automatically discrimination towards anyone else that wants to dress differently but can't because of school rules.
She wasnt preaching it nor shoving it down others... She was ONLY practicing on herself ...which was fine when she was sitting with the veil during her O Levels in the SAME SCHOOL where other girls (previous students) HAVE DONE THE SAME BEFORE...How is it even something new to the school?

How is her wanting to cover her face discriminating anyone else who wants to wear a shorter skirt (dress differently)

please at least come up with an argument not for the sake of bashing!

How did you come to this conclusion. I merely stated the disadvantages of living in a burqa friendly country. I think if she has strong faith, she will overcome all these difficulties. After all, these are mere inconveniences.
She already did move to a different school as the title of thread itself states TOO UPSET AND ANGRY ------ QUITS

If open socities ban niqab and keep pushing Muslims to the wall than for sure they would really soon face ISIS and AL QAEDA is Europe with lot off support from local Muslims
That is 1 way of looking at it....anyone alienated usually ends up with whoever is willing to accept them and that would be bad for UK coz these people who are being alienated are actually going with the passport of the country alienating them!

But countering this would be for god sakes check what ISIS is preaching (literally shit) why would anyone want to join that?

Heck even blacks in LIBERAL America from time to time feel alienated....

All the values you listed, security takes precedence. This is so true i don't even know why we are having this debate. If the nation's need for security doesn't outweigh her personal wishes, it's time to move.

You don't even get it do you? That by allowing one person more freedom that the rest, you are oppressing everyone but that first person.

Muslims keep doing that to non-Muslims on daily basis. Besides, it is good to see that the open society has woken up to the reality and has stopped being emotional/idealist.

More the local Muslims support such organizations, faster the idea of Peaceful, tolerant Muslims will diminish.

Don't forget 80% of Humanity is not Muslim. We will keep pushing you to the wall so that our family and children are raised in a safe environment.

Pakistan is not a secular nor do they hide behind fake advertisement of their reputation....neither Pakistan claimed it nor its citizens...Maybe you should try reading some posts where this was answered more than 3 times in THIS THREAD ALONE

The Open society doesn't need to impress you. The Open societies are open and tolerant in their own way. Like we non-Muslims don't expect you to be tolerant and non-violent, don't expect the non-Muslims to remain dormant while their way of life is under threat.

It is a private school with its own rules....

Security is more important NO DOUBT but then put it in your rules...dont show off we have no dressing restrictions...say we have...say the truth that we require you to present your face...black and white is what is needed if someone wishes to sue....

No one is oppressed in that school...the girl herself said girls wear smaller skirts all the time...So who is beign oppressed? this 1 girl actually...

What happens when a girl in mini skirt would come and they said, the attire is not appropriate, and she would say her newfound religion commands it? Are you serious?????
you want to go with that? really?

Well like I said in this case many already stated that yes mini skirts do get in....

Please at least take the time to read the case before making funny comments!

So far they havent impressed me with repeating the term open when they dont practice what they preach!

You cant really be intolerant and then call yourselves liberal...it kills the definition...You can say liberal but intolerant towards religion like France...they have said what others are SCARED TO SAY!

Like we non-Muslims don't expect you to be tolerant and non-violent, don't expect the non-Muslims to remain dormant while their way of life is under threat.
Keep your Indian victim to yourself...I have answered enough of this on this very thread!

YOU MUSLIM
ME NON MUSLIM is caveman language to me...

You do the same but when a Muslim calls you Kafir (non Muslim) you want to make an issue out of it! :tsk:

Well than west should not cry when soon more attacks take place on there soil it would be soon if west doesn't change the attitude
@Zarvan you shouldnt say such things... It makes you sound like a crazy person which you arent....

Prophet never said such shit so I suggest you dont try to be holier than the Prophet!

See, you say it nicely. School with rules.
If i was a teacher i would like to see my pupils' faces too. But not so much for security but more for the fact you more easily figure out if they had understood what you are saying to them. It's common decency to show your face as well, by the way.

And they did say they have dress code.

“We have an appearance policy and students at the school may wear what they wish subject to any requirement in the interests of teaching and learning, health and safety. Inappropriate dress which offends public decency or which does not allow teacher-student interactions will be challenged.”

Did read it. Who knows what her standards are for "too revealing and inapropriate". And as all this are her words......

Apparently this decency was recently introduced....AFTER she already sat for O levels in a veil....Wonder where this argument was for her seniors who graduated from the same school with the veil...You know during the time when UK didnt suffer from a certain phobia...

I am guessing if she said it and mind you she wasnt wearing a veil before Summer....her standards cant be that different from what the schools non existing level of common decency states...

Times change and rules soon follow.

Well looks like they are. i have above (in my last post) specifically quoted school statement where they say clothing that offends public decency and/or hampers with student/teacher interaction will not be tolerated. Ergo, school board doesn't think girls wear inapropriate things.

I took the liberty of a search, probably searching for "camden girls school shorts and skirts" query won't look good on my NSA file, but hey, you only live once!
Anyhow, i managed to dig up

Save your energy bro, some people are too stubborn on certain points to listen.
At this point you might as well start copy-pasting your previous posts, they keep repeating the same arguments over and over again.

You cannot stop them from crying or reacting. More attacks will be responded to with interest, be assured about that. They have got bigger and better guns.

They don't need to impress you. They must do what they feel is necessary for the safety of their present and future generations.

The face veil didnt offend them in Summer when she had wore a face veil and sat for O levels (she has been wearing it for 1 yr should count that 1 yr too) and of course lets not forget the previous students who also wore it.....

Yea but the school board just went bipolar after summer...I wonder why?

Could it be the phobia being developed thanks to media?

No matter how you term it...the tolerance level decreased as this new phobia munched on it ;)

They don't need to impress you. They must do what they feel is necessary for the safety of their present and future generations.
I know that but you felt the need to state something outrageous so I replied by showing you the mirror what it sounded like! Glad you noticed!

As for their future generation, by alienating someone and pushing them to some maniac who will accept them is no secure future....

Secure future as defined by civilized bodies is the need to bridge gaps not start digging a trench!

It is not their responsibility to bridge gaps when the other side will try to exploit any such act. The chips on their shoulders vanished on the day Islamists started raising their voices and started threatening the locals. They know what will happen if the phenomenon is not nipped in the bud. They are morally obliged to protect their people first, others come later.

It could be due to the phobia from the media, no doubt. But media doesn't write about thin air and doesn't have the power to stir phobia's where there is no basis for it. It feeds on fears and desires of the general populace, .

What you see as media phobia, i see as a natural step in correcting the wrongs of rampant immigration/asylum seeker policy and an overly obsessive PC culture infested with pandering to minorities.

Very shitty analogy. Going nude isn't equal to wearing a veil in school.
covered from head to toe in shuttlecock cloak is as disgusting as being nude. one is in birthday suit and another in tent. both gross

poverty ,snake charmers yes. Rapists not so much.

But overall your own brethren are intent in preserving the negative image of your religion by their terrorist behavior. Almost all major terrorist groups currently are islamic in nature. Is that not fact?

are you talking about satanism or wiccan new age practices?

osho .. :-)
