Time to Get Out of Afghanistan

I have noticed a lot of American news portals...blogs and....media....trying to create an air around Pakistan...starting Failing Government...to Nuclear threats to...Missile modifications...to Nuclear weapon count......everything I see....takes me back to the time when Iraq was being bulldozed with similar propaganda....

Hard to believe that the US would seriously consider invading Pakistan.
But you never know...

Anything can happen..... who thought USSR will breakup....but it happened....Who thought Afghan war was going to enter in Pakistan...it happened....Americans need a continuous war to make sure that their weapons factories continue to manufacture weapons....and their economy keeps on chugging......No war means...death to American weapons manufactures......and an end to American Supremacy...

Let face the truth, US or anyone can't control Afghanistan. Neither a war in Afghanistan is winnable. What ever US do they can never win this war. Because, war is not the solution. You need to win the hearts as well. Which US can't do, and they are intruders to Pashton tribe mostly. So they might don't speak up, but hate them more then anything. These fighters spend centuries while fighting, and can't give up. Taliban is and was the solution for this country. Since they know how to control it.. and they did well..

But i also know USA will never leave this region, because He can't see influence of iran or pakistan or china or russia in this region. Also, what will happen to those weapon manufacture companies in US, which are solely dependent on this war. And has influence on the US government.

OBL was nothing, just an excuse to capture afghanistan. Thats why even when Taliban offered trail, American increase demand. They never given any evidence, nor show off.. They couldn't!! And same thing happen, after capturing kabul, they wasn't interested in OBL any more.. & OBL issue is dead Now ...

George Will is correct...But only up to a point. Afghanistan is, for all practical purposes, a 'failed state'. If the US withdraw militarily today, we will have no choice but remain engaged with Afghanistan in some other indirect ways. It was the Taliban that accommodated Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda. There is no guarantee that the same accommodation will not resume. Another attack on US interests or even on US soil is inevitable if that accommodation resume. The US will respond, again, with the only type of response the Taliban understand -- force. The US does not need to have boots in Afghanistan in order to have a protracted US-Afghanistan war. Will is correct that we should get out of Afghanistan -- for now.

It is true Al Qeada ,Talaban ,Chechan,Shabab(Somalia),TTP,Hamas are all interlinked but it is stupid strategy to delink Al Qaeda destroy all these countries.

Better to address the cause of insurgency and terrorism ?

I agree with Gambit.Iraq is far more developed then Afghanistan.Iraq is a proper country while Afghanistan is a piece of land used by different war lords.

Did you say Afghanistan and Osama are two different issues? Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Osama the reason why USA invaded Afghanistan and started to kill Taliban, while Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11? And will it also again act the same way against Muslims in USA like they did just after 9/11? Especially to Pakistani Muslims of whom all were innocent? As soon as USA came into Afghanistan, within days at least 5000 Pashtuns died and you think it's funny Taliban won't let them go that easily? If USA once pull-out then they can never return, unless they want a complete destroyed USA this time. Economically especially.

Even after Pakistani Government saying they are ready to help USA destroy Taliban, you really think Taliban supporters would accept any help from ISI? And when we had ISI 'support', it only made more ethical crisis and created more hate. What's the guarantee it won't happen again?

Half of Afghanistan is Persian speaking while they are clear from Taliban. One thing I failed to understand is that why Taliban only blasts into the Southern part of Afghanistan while there they have largest number of supporters? And if they are truly in North as well then why doesn't anyone in the Northern part die? So it's either Taliban isn't as evil and therefore USA is planning those attacks to kill Taliban supporters, or either Taliban have turned completely nuts and want to lessen their supporters. Makes sense doesn't it? And Pashtuns never preferred foreigners in their country and nor will, it's just Tajiks and Uzbek's have showed their true colours and are licking Western *** in turn for some money.

"Contest" is not the same as "control". The taliban haven't yet won ONE single firefight with a NATO force-even those whom they've grossly outnumbered and where we've made clear mistakes.

IED attacks aimed at terrorizing the afghan people is hardly cause for applause...
