You can’t have a large fleet of modern multirole fighters and have it be used effectively without the personnel and infrastructure in place to support it.

Negotiation are currently occuring at a government to government basis on a whole raft of military issues. I am sure BAE and RAF representatives are there.

I am hopeful of a positive outcome....first generation EFs upgraded to block 5 standard will counter raffle effectively.

Its not a chicken and egg thing....you first need fighters then you develop personnel.

Lease some jets or hire some foreign pilots like the arabs do....it really is not a difficult problem as long as there is a will to do it.

BAFs issue is lack of will and defined purpose....it is not money nor is it political hindrance.

air defence roles and the later tranches have all undergone the Centurion upgrade.
If the BAF buys it will be the latest bloc off the shelf.

With the J-10Cs finally being mass produced with the WS-10B engine, is this not the perfect time to buy this great Chinese fighter?

I know that Myanmar may seem like a more immediate threat(US F-16s will take care of them) but the Hinduvtas are going crazy in India and would like to push some millions of Muslims into BD.

No weapons from USA will be reliable against India and so let us go for 2 squadrons of J-10CEs(36 planes) and 2-3 KJ-500 AWACs now. In the future as funds allow more squadrons can be added.

Tagged Chinese posters - any idea of how much that BD will pay for the aircraft I propose and the cost of infrastructure, maintenance, weapons and training?
Would be great if this could all come in at 4-5 billion US dollars at most with repayments over 5 years in installments.

It is purely my assumption that BD is going for old stock rather than new jets based on past experience.

If you say that all trance 1 have not been upgraded, fair enough.

Basis of my assumption is that with F35s coming online RAF maybe seeking to reduce the Eurofighter inventory.
