During a night sortie and a few minutes after take-off from Sargodha AB, the wingman informed his lead - Sqn.Ldr. Zafar Ahsan - and ground control that he is disoriented. They tried to help by repeatedly telling him to concentrate on the instruments but he crashed a few miles from Sarghoda, killing the pilot.

Crashed in Attock, Pakistan after it suffered an engine failure during a dogfight training mission with the pilot, Squadron Leader Nadeem Anjum, ejected safely. The engine failure was caused by installing not an original part in the engine during routine maintenance.

WS-10B is now a mature engine that has been flying for over a decade on lots of different Chinese jets like J-11 and J-15. Chinese are now so confident they are mass producing them for the single engine J-10C.

BD is negotiating with USA for F-16 and so Gripen and Typhoon are out of the question. This has been confirmed by both governments. BAF leadership may be dumb but not so dumb that they cannot propose a decent and fit for purpose fighter plane to procure.

F-16 cannot fight Rafale with Meteor but F-16CE can. If China willing to sell, BD needs to buy asap.

BD is currently also negotiating with RAF for upgraded first generation eurofighter.

These are what we should get....neither F16 nor J10s can challenge the birds that will soon surround us. J10 may be good as may be the chinese missile....i would have them as second tier fighters....but will opt for western or even russian as the frontline jets just as the chinese do themselves.

They sold F-16s for very good reason. What reason is there to sell F-16 to BD?

It is not war with India that BD is worried about but more a case of India using it's massive military advantage to coerce BD.
Less than a year ago, India tried the same thing with Pakistan and failed.
BD right now cannot stand up to India as it has practically no air-force!

Buying fighter jets won't solve the issue. You guys are late to understand the politics. Even if you buy the jets immediately still then i think you'll need around 5 years to get some kind of training and tactics. And by that time the current issues would be solved one way or the other.

It was an error that my quote was posted.... USA will sell so can make a profit and F 16s are no longer all that...

Sure but we should upgrade BAF so that we can deal with any issue that may arise in 5 years time....

BAF management is awful....they have not taken a single descision that has improved BAFs offensive capacity for 20 years straight...

I know that Myanmar may seem like a more immediate threat(US F-16s will take care of them) but the Hinduvtas are going crazy in India and would like to push some millions of Muslims into BD.

No weapons from USA will be reliable against India and so let us go for 2 squadrons of J-10CEs(36 planes) and 2-3 KJ-500 AWACs now. In the future as funds allow more squadrons can be added.

Tagged Chinese posters - any idea of how much that BD will pay for the aircraft I propose and the cost of infrastructure, maintenance, weapons and training?
Would be great if this could all come in at 4-5 billion US dollars at most with repayments over 5 years in installments.

BD needs a supplier that is reliable against India. Russia is not one of them and these aircraft are no match for Rafale with Meteor.

None of Chinese junk is match to Mig 29 . Mirage 2000 , Jaguar darin 3 or Tejas. Forget about rafale.
