What's new

Time for BD to buy J-10CE?

US will not sell F-16V to BD.
BD and US are currently negotiating for F-16s, probably refurbished Block 50/52s with AIM-120( not the long range D model though)
J-10CE comes with 140kn WS-10B engine and so it can compete with the Rafale in T/W ratio and as it is also a delta-canard also in the high altitude manoeuvrability, to allow long range BVR shots using it's AESA radar and PL-15 missile.
What about
JF-17 Thunder Block 3 contains all these feature????

After 47 both sides knew they cant do anything about the part of Kashmir held by the adversary. We fought wars in hope that local population will help us but they didn't and we failed. Whatever hope was left went into the bin when both countries got nukes. Pakistan knows it can't do anything about the other part of Kashmir and so does India. Modi created a picture of bravado in his home which now he has to maintain. Nukes won't deter India to try 26 Feb. again but they will make sure that Indians stay on their side of the border.

Regarding Indo-Bangladesh relations, you need to have good relations with them for atleast 10 years meanwhile erecting your defences. If India has sense they will maintain good relations with you as with increase of US influence in India they will pressure India against China and India can't have tensions on all its three borders.
This is exactly why we keep our heads down and focusing on economy and military boosting while maintaining both China and India with balance... we don’t have nukes, never will... so will have to play the game slower

China only cares about F-22/35.
How about that UFO

JF-13 Block 3 is a good plane with PL-15 and can take on Rafale.

However current BD government will never buy this aircraft as Pakistan is a joint partner in the project.
I doubt whether Pakistan would even be interested in selling to BD under Awami League.

Best to stick with J-10CE as it is slightly better and no Pakistan connection.
China can also get it's first export contract for J-10 as well.

Frankly a good force multiplier platform, could easily buy 160 of these and have effective deterrence in the short term... heck 50+ order with options could help with TOT and partial manufacture/ assembly in bd

Why you don't buy a rafale to counter a Rafale
Eurofighter typhoon's 2 sqd will be sufficient.
And Gripen Jas-39 meteor Westren engine
Smoke free.
Well I was saying because jf-17 totally based on F-16....
We were talking about fighter jets, and then you mention bombers?
Ohh...but you said that you only care about figjter planes so I was only asking?

Yeah thats what I was talking about ....
BTW 50 i.e 3-4 sqd will be enough...

With the J-10Cs finally being mass produced with the WS-10B engine, is this not the perfect time to buy this great Chinese fighter?

I know that Myanmar may seem like a more immediate threat(US F-16s will take care of them) but the Hinduvtas are going crazy in India and would like to push some millions of Muslims into BD.

No weapons from USA will be reliable against India and so let us go for 2 squadrons of J-10CEs(36 planes) and 2-3 KJ-500 AWACs now. In the future as funds allow more squadrons can be added.

Tagged Chinese posters - any idea of how much that BD will pay for the aircraft I propose and the cost of infrastructure, maintenance, weapons and training?
Would be great if this could all come in at 4-5 billion US dollars at most with repayments over 5 years in installments.
I do not think J-10CE fitted with the WS-10B engine should be imported. It is because the WS-10 engines are not yet matured. We must think of other planes for the mainstay defense of our sky.

https://www.globaldefensecorp.com/2...taihang-doesnt-solve-chinas-engine-nightmare/

Please read the feature above published only in October last year. It says the WS-10 group of engines does not produce the required thrust and even if they produce it, it takes a longer time. This is bad for a fighter plane.

BAF should not buy any Chinese planes for its frontline defense, especially if they are fitted with Chinese engines which remain immatured.

BAF should opt for European planes. All their engines are matured because of a very long experience throughout a century. However, I believe Chinese planes with Russian engines will also do the same at a cheaper price.

India takes some countries as its back yard.

It is not easy for BD to say no in reality.

India offcourse will seek to create hedgemon. Fortunately for us they are in no position to impose one.

And it is in neither countries interest to to be in loggerhead with each other. They may surround us but we are a sea fearing nation they can not encircle. Furthermore seven sisters are christians and hotchpoch of tribals and are not really part of india either.

1971 is not a barometer that should be used to used to assess relative strengths of the nations. Then pakistani army became a foreign occupier overnight that indians were able to overcome.

They recognised then that BD is not something they can absorb and get away with. Akhand bharat of hindutva dream will remain just that.

Hindutva power projection is for internal use. BD focus is economy, chest thumping do not feed or educate the people.

BD knows the reality on the ground and knows what it must focus on. India is only a thoeretical existential threat. As each day that goes by this threat lessens.

Truth be told 2019 drama was just to win elections, they had no intentions to continue

Partially correct, yes it was drama that was aimed to win elections. But it back fired at them and they then tried to launch a missile strike with the help of their dee aye dee dee why. Israel. They were put in their place and defeated as in past.

Now kindly avoid turning it into India vs pakistan thread. What I'm happy is Bangladesh is finally realizing importance of military. I'm hopeful bangladesh will one day realize it's true enemy instead of the non existence enemy i.e. Pakistan.

I am hoping that people that actually matter may even be reading this thread and looking at the arguments for J-10CE. Know that it is a long hope but you never know.

BD defence acquisitions depend on two things primarily - threat and budget.
Budget is not longer that much of an issue as the defence spending has quadrupled from 1-1.5 billion US dollars to 4-5 billion US dollars in the last 10 years and growing in line with the fast growth of the economy(7-8% a year).
What the worry is if the government takes the Hinduvta threat seriously enough that it starts planning how to deal with it right now. It will take at least a decade to have sufficient forces in place to cope with India and BD must start buying stuff like J-10CE right now!

That I agree with, Pakistan doesn’t meddle in our problems and neither do we... our mutual enemy is India that thinks they’re the king of the region and can do whatever, there dream of Mahabharata will never become a reality with their attitutdes
