You need English lessons!

or the Tibetans, however, the celebration of their New Year has been a somewhat muted affair in recent years, with the Chinese government dampening the celebrations by sealing Tibet from the outside world and banning foreigners’ travel to Tibet during the period. This will be the fifth consecutive year of such a ban.

.
the west media accused China of both banning and forcing the celebration of Tibetan new year, how pathetic...

Apparently you still did not read your own source...

The Tibetan New Year, or Losar, is normally the most festive holiday of the year, when Tibetans burn incense, make special dumplings and set off fireworks. But this year, Tibetans have declared a moratorium on celebrating their own holiday, saying they will instead observe a mourning period for people killed last year during protests against Chinese rule.
So the Tibetans THEMSELVES declared they will not celebrate their own version of the New Year. The Chinese government went into a panic and forced them to celebrate their own New Year.

We north-easterners stand by our Tibetan brothers. They will soon get their freedom from the ruthlessness the CCP.

haha,how soon?

that's what you Indian posters claimed, quite different from yours...

So you are with the Tibetans then? Cause Chinese regime cancelled the holiday for Tibetan new year(#1 holiday in the world for the Tibetans) and are forcing this Chinese new year on them which is alien for them mind you.

^^None of the claim was mine, all of that has been reported in the media.

BEIJING — The Chinese government has a New Year's greeting for Tibetans: Celebrate, or else.

Tibetans shot dead for failing to observe Chinese New Year

BY: JANE MACARTNEY From: The Australian January 24, 2012 12:32PM

CHINESE forces shot dead three Tibetans and wounded about 30 amid a mass refusal by Tibetans in China to observe the Chinese New Year. The shootings occurred in Luhuo, southwestern China, during a protest against the arrest of Tibetan activists.
So in 2009, the Chinese government forced the Tibetans to put on a face to celebrate the Tibetan Losar, their version of the New Year celebration when the Tibetans themselves declined to do so. Then in 2012, the Chinese government forced the Tibetans to celebrate the Chinese version of the New Year.

My advice to you: READ the sources. Yours or not.

RIP. Tibet and Palestine will be free one day, InshAllah.

.
that sounds really funny, one year encourages the celebration and next year bans it.only Indians believe in this funny joke.no governments will make this absurd mistake.

Nope. In 2009, the Chinese government forces celebration. In 2012, the Chinese government forces celebration again, but of a different version.

I don't get this. How does "Free Tibet" get the news? I assume there's telecommunication involved. In this age, you would think they could also make a picture easily with a cellphone? Hard to imagine there's no single picture flowing out, but somehow they get so much detail of the story.

Before I came to US, I listened Free Asian and VOA and I had great sympathy on Free Tibet. Ironically after I am here and can read their stuff freely, it completely changed my view.
