Three bombmakers killed in explosion in Karachi flat

KARACHI: An explosion inside a house near Patel Para has killed three alleged bombmakers and injured two others, reported Express News.

Rescue officials told Express News that the explosion could have possibly occurred as a result of a gas cylinder blowing up. However, police differed, saying it was the result of a bomb making process gone wrong, and pointed to the presence of ball bearings.

Police officials claimed that the explosion occurred on the third storey of an under-construction building. As rescue and investigation teams arrived on the venue, the law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area surrounding the crime scene.

The bodies of the dead are still inside ambulance vans while the injured have been shifted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. One of the injured persons, has been taken in custody and shifted to an undisclosed location. Another of the injured had to operated on and has reportedly lost his sense of hearing.

Raja Omer Khatab said that the blast had left a one foot deep crater at the blast site.
