What's new

There’s extreme intolerance in India: Shah Rukh Khan ( Indias will be now- who is SRK ?)

When in Maharashtra, try to be a good Maharashtrian.
Don't assume that Non-Maharashtrians are in the state to spread chaos and that Maharshtrians are innocent lambs.

Interiors of western Rajasthan u may say, east rajasthan is flooded by bhaiyas of UP and Bihar plus the meena and gurjar combo has made it worse.
I have lived in Bikaner and Ganganagar, peaceful places and nice people.

Maharashtrians in general and Shiv Sainiks in particular reserve their special treatment for special out-of-staters.

If you are cool, then we are cool.

If not, then you are really messing with the wrongest people in India.

The people because of whom India remains a Hindu nation today.

Just because we do not throw it around politically at the center, does not mean the rest forget about it.

Especially those who bent over first or most easily.

There is a degree of racial martial pride involved here that borders of supremacism. I will not deny it, nor would want to.

.
I do cause I used to attend them when I was a kid. Saraswati vandana at the start(or at the end i don't really remember)and tying rakhis to our fellow blokes:mad:, though I never wore the chaddis:lol:.

Ever visited Udaipur? Clean, green plus full of watery lakes after monsoons.
nope BUT HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT IT ! I am yet to go farther from Delhi ! otherwise i have traveled extensively Almost all over INDIA.

.
Its good to see stars and important people speaking out against the excesses of shiv sena RSS and other terrorist organizations that focus on Hindu supremacy. Maharashtra is gripped with intolerance I must say. For Pakistanis for muslims for everyone.

. .
If you ever plan to visit their do it after the monsoons (sept., oct.) do not visit their before or during monsoons cause everything will be dried up or too much rain to even think about stepping out of your hotel.
Jaipur is also a good place to visit along with the deserts of Jaislmer. Rest everything is same old crap everywhere of forts and what remains of the maharajas which you wouldn't be interested in unless you are a historian.

Absolutely, and the reason this does not get thrown around politically is because that is considered anti-national by us. I know people will find it difficult to understand this, but despite the issues SS gets into with certain people, SS do not see it as an anti-national act, purely a conflict of interest between brothers. I mean a common SS supporter wonders, what is anti-national if we oppose legalization of illegal shanties because the residents there will change the demography in Congress favor etc, or asking for jobs for locals when such laws already exist in other states like HP... If Maharashtrians ever perceive SS as anti-national, then SS will shut down in a day.

To put it in perspective, hardly any other big state in India has voted for a national level party as much as Maharashtra has and no other state hosts as many people from other states as Maharashtra does. I have to wonder at cheek of some people who blame Maharashtrians of regionalism. I think if we blackmail the center like say the Dravidian parties have done, then we will be considered model citizens...

No Maharashtrian needs to or owes an explanation to any non Maharashtrian to be honest.

I came to this state as a Bihari. In the late 80s.

And I have never had any problem here.

Its probably India's most progressive state.

And yes, it helps in my eyes that it is also India's most militant Hindu state. It makes me feel right at home.

Pls stop assuming sir.
1) You're assuming that shiv sainiks attack only when provoked.
2) You're assuming that if there's a violence then the outsiders ask for it.

If not, then you are really messing with the wrongest people in India.

Mughal empire, Aurangzeb or Tipu Sultan could not have converted swathes of India.

There lies the problem!
The problem is, shiv sainiks think that Mumbai is run by Maharshtrians- whatever happened to scores of non-Maharshtrians settled in the state. Have you ever wondered the plight of Maharashtrians if they were to be given a similar treatment when in other states of India?

Mam, this is my state. I have been living here since 1989.

I do not need to assume anything. I live here. As a Maharashtrian. As a Sainik.

I have yet to see a people who are greater nationalists and clear in their mind about who the enemy is. No socially correct BS for the successors of Shivaji's fighters.

Its funny you mention Tipu Sultan. I'll leave it there.

There is no wrong treatment to anyone who does not have it coming to him (or her).

All Indians who have adopted Maharashtra as their home are Maharashtrians.

Obviously the Marathi manoos gets first dibs.

.
I think some people here are confusing 2 different issues of regionalism, and religious harmony, you can be "secular" and a regional supremacist. The religious bit is what was being discussed in the interview.

.
I've seen shiv-sena guys indulge in sabotaging shops , beating up rickshaw-walas for carrying passengers during bandh, and creating a commotion in my college campus whenever they got an opportunity (e.g during college festivals). These are some of the incidents I remember.
Aren't they similar to the acts of secular communists in kerala ??

Sire we live in India.
Why should Mahasrashtrians or maharashtra have special rules?
Its funny you mention Tipu Sultan. I'll leave it there.
I mentioned Tipu Sultan because despite the myriad of soldiers he had, he was successful in converting a small part of Kerala, which itself is a tiny state in India. So I'm not sure if Maharashtrians should claim something like this- "The people because of whom India remains a Hindu nation today".
There is no wrong treatment to anyone who does not have it coming to him (or her).
Oh yes! shiv sainiks can never go wrong.

Yes, there's no difference between goons of CPI(M) and Shiv sainiks.

You can’t stop Pak artistes from working in Bollywood: Salman Khan

Reacting to the recent debate over prohibiting Pakistani artists from working in our country, Bollywood star Salman Khan has said that art and entertainment have no boundaries, adding that they shouldn’t be mixed with politics.

“Now that everything is digital, Indians love to watch each and every entertainment show, including popular Pakistani shows . So, art and entertainment have no boundaries. Entertainment is evaluated by what common people want to watch,” Salman said.

Last month, popular Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali was forced to cancel his concert here due to political interference. “How can we allow Pakistani artists to perform here when our soldiers are being killed by them? We are not interested in cultural ties with such enemies,” said Akshay Bardapurkar, the general secretary of the party’s film wing Chitrapat Sena.

Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan -- who have Bollywood projects in their kitty -- were also targeted by the Shiv Sena.

“Politics and art should not be mixed. This is not what common people want,” Salman Khan said, adding, “If someone wants a Pakistani actor who can portray a role better, nobody can put a constraint. Bollywood has a huge number of fans in Pakistan and earns a good share of income from the neighbouring country.”
